A/N: So, it is my birthday and I decided that I'd give you guys a gift. Just because I'm uploading this one part right now doesn't mean updates will be plentiful (at the moment that is) I just wanted to give y'all a taste of Mine and to get some of you off of my back. Not trying to sound snippy, bitchy, or unappreciative but I see many of you don't read my authors notes or even my messages. But like I told you in (sixty-two I think, I don't remember) I'm going through some things, I'm working this summer, and a lot of times I'm tired when I get home so I don't update. This might happen days at a time and I don't mean for it to happen but it does. Battling depression without medication is ALSO tiring, so imagine that on top of walking outside in the heat all day entertaining people (I work in an amusement park) so you see where I'm coming from. Then I have a thirty minute drive home soooo yeah, I'm usually exauhsted. Bear with me I'll try updating when I can, but I thought I'd be a little nice and give y'all the first part of Mine.

Don't ever say I never give y'all anything lol Enjoy! Also the story art will come later.

Two years later...

I sat on the plane that would soon be taking me back to my beloved Collinsville, Virginia. I had just finished my stint as a Peace Corps Volunteer and I tell you, it was one of the best experiences I'd had in awhile. I stared at the picture of my closest friends. Brandi and her new guy were getting married. She and Cain decided to go their separate ways, though she never told me why exactly, just that it happened after I left. I was so glad that I was back in time to be seeing the beginning aspects of the planning. Amber and I were maids of honor, while Brandi's sisters would be bridesmaid's. I guess that it would be fun. We all Skyped and wrote letters as much as we could while I was stationed in the Dominican Republic. It made me thankful for where I came from. But the native people made everything so much better. I loved that even in the midst of having not as much, people were still happy. It made me sometimes ashamed of how we acted in America seeing a man with little food and worn out shoes happy to share the little he had with me, a stranger, just because he thought I was hungry. Also, the beautiful children I got to teach everyday made it even more worthwhile. I made sure to keep in touch with them through letters. I did the same with Amber, Brandi, Jack, and Evan, who by the way were married and living in California. I missed them dearly, but they both said they'd be here for the wedding. As for Amber and Cairo, they are still going strong, with Cairo making an excellent addition to our family.

I was only ten minutes away from landing at the airport. I was excited to see them again, excited to be back home.

When I finally landed and I collected my luggage, I thanked God above for keeping me safe through my entire journey as I walked around finding where I was supposed to meet my friends. Soon I saw them but they had their backs towards me. I quickened my pace to meet up with them.

"Okay where is she? She said she'd be here." Amber said quietly

"You know it takes forever for those planes to let passengers off, just be patient." Cairo said

"Yeah. I mean, she's home and she's safe, that's all that matters." Brandi said

I smirked and slowly walked up to them, standing by Brandi.
