Short one! :)

Ellie

I started to break out into a nervous sweat.

"You alright?" Leo asked me

"I'm okay."

"Are you alright to continue?"

"Yeah." I said shakily

All I could envision was him coming towards me in fit of absolute rage, throwing things, kicking furniture and yelling. I had simply knocked over a glass of water, on accident. It got me thrown to the floor and barked at. Apologizing only made it worse. I knew nothing of what to do, so I just curled into a ball to protect myself. And yes, he was drunk as usual.

"What are you seeing? Feeling?"

"He's angry...and I feel afraid."

"I'm right here with you. What else is happening?"

"He's hollering about what a klutz I am. All I did was spill some water."

"What else?"

I swallowed hard as I saw in the flashback him coming towards me.

He started to kick me. At first, I was able to take his blows. But eventually, my ball came undone as he sent a sharp kick to my back. I cried out in agony, begging him to stop. I could scarcely crawl away from him. He only followed me.

"Sit still! You need to be punished." He growled

I remember trying to get up from the floor, but he kicked me back down. I laid on my side in agony and started to cry.

"Stop all of the damn crying!" He snarled, picking me up by my hair.

"Ah Chris, don't!" I begged

"Worthless bitch!" He spat, dropping me once more

"I need a drink." He muttered to himself

I laid there, trembling until I heard him go into the kitchen. It's as if God was helping me out, because there were my keys in arms reach towards me. Mustering all of my strength, I grab them and slowly, but painfully haul myself up to my feet. I still hear the clang of all of the bottles that he held in his secret cabinet while he mutters angrily to himself. I seize this opportunity to stumble towards my car, each breath painful. I don't even care that I left the door open. As soon as I wrench my car door open, I hear him yelling behind me to come back inside, but I quickly get in in time before he's at my car trying to get into it. Hands trembling, and breath fast and swift, I start the car and clumsily back out of the parking lot before flooring it down the street...

My eyes flash open and I notice that I am covered in sweat.

"I can't go any further."

Leo's face looks grim at the telling of my tale, but looks understanding.

"That's alright. You did good though Ellie, I'm proud of you."

"Thanks. If you don't mind, I'd like to go back to bed now." I say quietly

"Sure, let's go back into the house."

He helps me stand up, and we both walk back into his beach house. I don't know the full reason of why he brought me out here, but as I see the sun peek across the horizon, I have a feeling that after today, things would begin to change. And for some reason, I didn't feel like it was a good thing.
