5 ~ Onto The Platform

Today was Sunday the 1st of September and I was currently jumping out of my skin with excitement at the thought of starting my new school.

It was 8 in the morning and I was sitting on my bed with Izzy, both of us still in out pajamas, checking that I had packed everything I needed.

I was just finished packing some of my favourite books, when my mother called me from downstairs. "Skylar, come on down for breakfast", I quickly grabbed my drawer full of my tops and dumped the contents into my I trunk quickly closing it up and then grabbing a a dead rat for Luna to eat before we leave... Yuck.

I grabbed Izzy from where she was sitting on my bed, before running down the stairs with her on my hip.

"Your father and I have something we need to tell you" my mother said setting a plate of waffles down in front of me as I sat down at the table.

I looked up at her waiting for her answer. "were having another baby" she said with a smile on her face.

That's when I choked on my orange juice. I was coughing and spluttering everywhere my dad patting me on the back "Jesus, Sky I didn't think we would shock you that much" he said chuckling to himself.

"Wow, I can't believe I'm gonna have another sibling," I said as it finally started to sink in. "well we just thought we should tell you before you left, didn't want you coming home to find another child in the house" my mother stated.

"So when will the new baby be here?" I asked my mum "The baby's is due on November the 3rd,"my mum told me as she sipped on her tea while leaning against the counter. That's when I noticed the rather large bump protruding from under her top.

I looked over at the clock, it was half 9. "Okay I'd better go get ready, I'm meeting Fred and George at quarter to 11 and Izzy needs a bath" I said standing up from and lifting Izzy out of her high chair.

"Honey I'll bath her, don't worry" mum said placing her cup down on the counter, "No no, I won't be here now so I want some time with her before I go" I said cuddling Izzy tight to my chest before running up the stairs.

I grabbed a towel and Izzy's clothes for the day before going into the bathroom and running a nice warm bath for Izzy, I can't believe I won't see my little sister till Christmas, and thinking about that makes me feel extremely sad.

I stripped Izzy from her Pajamas and lowered her into the bubbly bath with a few toys, she started splashing about and getting water in my hair, damn, now I need a shower.

I lifted Izzy out of the bath and dried her gently before putting on a clean nappy, baby grow, some blue leggings, and a pretty blue and green dress, topping it off with her green converse and a blue clip in her hair.

I put Izzy into her travel cot along with her teddy and a few books, before grabbing my clothes I had set out the night before and jumping into the shower. I washed using Lavender scented shampoo and conditioner and then washing my body with Rose scented body wash before shaving and quickly jumping out of the shower and drying off.

I dressed into my clothes and towel dried my hair roughly before grabbing my hair dryer and drying and straightening my hair until it was pin straight

I checked again if I had everything packed. Adding a few extra pairs of clothes, shoes and toiletries, before carrying my trunk, Luna in her cage and all my other cases and items I needed to take to Hogwarts.

Mum had done a charm l on my trunk an 'undetectable extension charm' she told me. I could now fit everything into my trunk and probably a lot more.

I went back upstairs and grabbed Izzy putting a jacket on over her dress and grabbing a few toys for her to have in case she gets bored. I lifted her out of her travel cot and we went downstairs to meet my parents.
