Chapter 9. Troubles

Jahoon: What in the world is happening? What is all of this commotion about?

As soon as I entered the building and was about to go to my office as normal, there was a big commotion happening right in the lobby. Employees were standing around as they were whispering among themselves and the people in the back trying to get a closer look at what was happening in the middle of the circle. I pushed myself through the crowd and apologized until I got to the centre of the crowd and where all of the chaos was happening.

????: You really thought I would let this go that easily?! Huh?! Do you really think that I would let your employee hurt my son like that when he hasn't done anything?! Do you think that I would slide it off as nothing?! And here I was about to invest in your company because I really like your work and everything but now you won't even get a cent from me!

All of the girls were standing behind Saerom as a much older man was yelling and pointing at her angrily. A familiar man was standing behind him but I wasn't sure where I had seen him before. Their bodyguards were also standing near them in case something happened to their boss. The older man began getting more and more angrily at Saerom and it was only a matter of time before he hurt her and I couldn’t let that happen. I walked inside the circle and stood in front of Saerom, staring directly at him.

Jahoon: I don’t know what the problem that you have with Saerom is but please calm down so we can have a more civilized conversation.

????: She was the one who hurt me, Dad!

The younger guy behind the man, who supposedly was the son, pointed at me angrily. The older man huffed and placed his arm behind him.

Older man: So you are the one who has been hurting my son, huh? You finally decided to show your face. Do you really think that you can hurt my child without any consequences? Do you know who I am?

The older man pointed right in my face and pushed me a few times on the shoulder with his finger. I noticed from the corner of my eye the other girls trying to get closer and stop the older man from doing anything towards me. I spread my arms out as I was telling them that I got it as I was still keeping eye contact with the old man.

Jahoon: I’m sorry but I don’t know who you are but no matter what it doesn’t give you the right to treat anyone like this. If you have a problem with me then let it all out on me, not on Saerom or any other people who don't know anything about this.

Older man: Don’t worry I will. And I will make sure that you will get fired and not only that but also get you blacklisted so you never would be able to work in this industry or any other. No one is allowed to hurt my son ever!

The older man pointed at me angrily once again and then walked away with his son and all of his bodyguards. It was only now that I realized that the son was the one that tried to take advantage of Jiwon in the club a few days ago.

Chaeyoung: What are you guys looking at?! Return to your work immediately!

Every employee quickly scattered away as Chaeyoung glared at them. I turned around to look at Saerom and the girls.

Jahoon: Are you guys okay? He didn’t do anything to you, did he?

Saerom: Don’t worry, he didn’t do anything. You came at the right time but let’s all continue to talk in my office.

We all made our way to Saerom’s office and sat down on the couch area of her office.

Saerom: Now tell me what is happening between you and Mr. Heo? Why is he so angry at you? What happened between you and his son?

I sighed and glanced at Jiwon. I could tell from her expression that she also realized who that guy was. I told the girls everything that had happened in the club a few days ago. The girls listened to everything I had to say as Jiwon looked away in kind of a bit of embarrassment. I really wanted to tell her none of this was her fault, the only one who was a problem was that son of a b.

Jahoon: Seems like I have caused too many problems for you guys. I’m really sorry. Now I made you lose an investment, Saerom.

Saerom: It’s alright Jahoon. From what you have told me, I’m actually glad that this happened because I don’t want to invest with someone whose child acts like that towards other people. Not only that but even the guy himself was acting crazy. You basically saved me from an asshole.

Hayoung: Saerom is right. Not only did you save Saerom but also Jiwon. It was lucky that you were there.

Jahoon: So… you are not mad at me?

Saerom: Why would we? The only thing you have done is good. But we have to find out how to fix this little problem. Mr Heo is a powerful figure in this industry. He can basically do anything he wants.

All of the girls grew quiet and a worried as well as serious look was on their faces. I could tell that this was a serious matter and that Mr Heo was a very powerful man in this industry. I have caused so many troubles for them so I have to be the one who also fixes this.

Jahoon: I will find a way to fix this problem. I was the one who created the problem after all.

Jiheon: You are not going to quit, are you?

Jahoon: That wasn’t my plan for now but if it’s the only possible way to fix this then I probably will.

Everyone: No!

All of the girls yelled at the same time, catching me by surprise. Mostly Jiwon.

Jahoon: What?

Saerom: I'm sorry but I will not let that happen at all, no matter what. You are a part of our group now and being a part of our group means that no one is leaving no matter what happens. We help and protect each other no matter what the other is going through. We will get through this together.

Saerom smiled at me and assured me that everything was going to be fine. I looked at the other girls to see them agreeing with Saerom.

Jiheon: I will never allow you to leave us, Jahoon.

Jiheon wrapped her arms tightly around mine and laid her head on my shoulder in a protective manner. I wasn’t able to go anywhere for sure. All of the girls laughed. I felt kind of happy to know that I was a part of their friend group. It made me feel like a part of something. I did have friends growing up and in school but it was only with them that I truly felt like I was a part of a group. At least I didn’t have to worry about my future in case everything goes completely downhill with Mr Heo and his little issues.
