Chapter 11. Stronger forces

The next day I was lucky to get the time off from Saerom. A part of my mind was telling me that it was probably because she wanted me to rest after all the ordeal with Mr Heo. Unfortunately, I had to lead her on to think that I was going to rest but in reality, I wasn't. I couldn't just yet. Not when all of this still wasn't solved yet. I got into my car and began driving to the location where I was going to meet an important person that might help me with all of this.

Jahoon: Did something happen to her? Did Mr Heo get to know about my plan somehow? I shouldn’t worry that much. Maybe she is just late because of a meeting or something?

I took a sip of my hot chocolate as I glanced at the door once again. Luckily this time I saw her entering the shop. I raised my hand in the air and waved at her as she smiled soon after and walked over to me before sitting on the chair opposite me.

Haein: Sorry that I'm late. I got caught in a kind of difficult case. I want to ask you for advice today as well if it’s alright with you.

Jahoon: You can ask whenever you want. It’s the least I can do after what you are helping me. Do you want anything to drink or maybe eat? Don’t worry, it’s on me.

Haein: Just the usual, thank you.

I nodded and got to the counter to order for the both of us. A few moments later I got back to our table.

Haein: Again, thank you very much for this. By the way, what can I help you with? You sounded really distressed on the phone. That is very unusual for you.

I leaned back in my chair and bit the inside of my cheek as I kind of got second-hand doubt if I should ask her or not. Haein looked at me and kept quiet as if she was allowing me to take my time to ask her. She leaned over the table and grabbed my hand to give me an encouraging squeeze.

Haein: Whatever it is, you can always ask me. No matter how dangerous the situation and outcome may be. I will always be there for you like the way you have been with me all up until now. You had always been there for me without me asking or telling you and now it’s my time to return that loving favor to you.

I smiled a small smile at her as I appreciated her kind words. I sighed and leaned closer to Haein as I told her everything that happened. Haein listened to me carefully as she kept quiet the whole time. When I was done explaining, Haein looked at me with a small pout as she processed everything in her mind.

Haein: Seems like you have gotten yourself into quite a big problem. I have heard a few pieces of information about Mr Heo but I have never encountered him myself. But I have heard that he is quite the vicious type. I heard people saying that everyone who isn't on his side is his prey that he would try to hunt until they are completely down.

I tried hard not to gulp when Haein told me that. Well, I surely will be dead by the end of this.

Jahoon: That is very much reassuring…

Haein: I'm sorry Hoon but that is unfortunately the truth but I know that the one who will be able to take him down would be you.

Jahoon: Thank you very much for your confidence in me….

Haein: You are very welcome but I just want to let you know that I'm only speaking the truth. You will be the one who can take him down but I believe that reassurance in your skills is the only reason that you asked for me to come and see you, so what can I help you with?

Jahoon: Can you help me get the surveillance footage from the club? Is the only thing that I can show him to prove that his son was in the wrong.

Haein: Sure! I will try to- scratch that, I will make sure that I find a way to obtain that evidence but not only that I will also make sure to dig up some dirt about him and his family so that you will be able to use it against him in court if it ever gets to that point.

Jahoon: Thank you very much Haein but be sure to be careful. Both I and you know how powerful he is. He would be able to do anything towards you if he ever gets a sniff of what we are doing.

Haein: Don’t worry Jahoon. I’m a big girl compared to the first time that we met.

Jahoon: I know but still be careful. Please just promise me that you will at least call me if you ever feel like someone is following you or trying to hurt you.

Haein: Don’t worry. I will.

Haein smiled and walked over to me to give me a hug. We continued to talk and catch up for a while until it was time for us to separate. I walked her out to her car and watched her drive away. I walked over to my car and was about to enter my own when I felt like someone was stalking me. I turned around to look around but I couldn’t see anyone suspicious. I decided to take a walk around the whole parking lot to see if I could spot anyone suspicious, no matter if they were out of the car in the parking lot or inside of their car but even with that I couldn't. After that whole ordeal, I still couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being watched at the moment. I quickly got back to my car and got inside it, locking the doors right after me. I checked around the inside just to make sure that there wasn't anyone lurking around in my car or anyone who had done something to it, like a microphone, tracking device or anything like that. I breathed out and leaned back in my seat as I was satisfied that none of that was the case. Again, the feeling of being watched was still not gone. I better head home before anything happens. At least I would be safe in the comfort of my own home.
