"The Montague's party is tomorrow. Is everything ready? Refreshments, music—"

"Ashley, stop," Diana interrupted, walking up to me with an exasperated look. "You have to relax. You always do this."

"Do what?"

"Freak out before an event, even though you know everything will fall into place."

"I do not—wait, what if the refreshments come late? Mr. Montague will kill our boss, and then I’ll get fired. Oh my God, I am freaking out."

She crossed her arms and gave me that infuriating I-told-you-so look.

"You need to chill," she said, smirking. "You've been doing this for over four years now, and we’ve never gotten a bad review—unlike Lloyd’s crew."

I chuckled despite myself, and she smiled in triumph.

"You’re good at what you do, Ashley. Relax."

I took a deep breath, forcing the tension out of my shoulders. "You’re right."

"You should be more worried about what you’re wearing tomorrow. And maybe hook up with one of the guests."

"Diana..." I shot her a warning glare. "Getting laid isn’t exactly high on my priority list right now. You, of all people, should know that."

"Ahem..." A deep voice cleared from the doorway.

"Kyle," Diana said, grinning at him. "Glad you could join us. Don’t you think Ashley should get laid?"

I flushed. "Diana!"

Kyle only chuckled as he walked into the room, holding a paper bag.

"What? I needed a second opinion," she teased. Then, turning to him, she asked, "You brought our goodies, didn’t you?"

He held up the bag and handed it over.

"You’re a lifesaver," Diana said, snatching her cup of coffee.

"Thanks, Kyle," I added, taking mine.

"No problem," he replied, settling into a seat.

"It’s weird, though," Diana mused, sipping her coffee. "An international celebrity running errands for us."

Kyle shrugged, grinning. "Who says a celebrity can’t be your bell boy?" He batted his lashes dramatically.

I laughed. This was why I liked him—as a friend, of course. Unlike most people in his position, Kyle wasn’t a pompous jerk.

I checked my watch: 2:45 PM.

"Diana, can you do the final review of the venue? I need to pick up Jordan."

"Sure."

"Are you bringing her here today?" Kyle asked.

"Yeah," I said, grabbing my bag. "I’ll be back in a few minutes."

I hurried out the door, heading for the stairs when I heard my boss call out.
