TESSA
Beep, beep.
I opened my eyes gently, with my vision getting clearer with each blink. I turned to my right and as usual,
Empty.
David didn't come home last night. I feel like we've been getting distant over the last few months. About 6 months ago, David would've been the one to wake me up with soft kisses and probably a head.
No, no,
Theresa Avery Houston you are not going to mope about your boyfriend today. Maybe tomorrow, but not today.
I quickly got up and made my bed. After doing my business in the kitchen, I went to my wardrobe and a white crop top filled with flowers caught my attention.
I was about picking it up to wear but I decided against it. Eventually, I went with a plain brown t-shirt accompanied with a dark blue jean and white sneakers.
I wrote a note and dropped in an obvious place.
Hopefully David would see it.
After picking my backpack, I walked out of the house and closed the door. DXD Salon wasn't really far from my house, about a 20 minute walk.
As I was going through the familiar route, my mind went back to that guy, Kyle.He wasn't too muscular although he was very tall, broad shoulders, curly hair, sexy smile/smirk and a teensy-weensy bit flirty.
He didn't have that aura that most rich guys have, that aura that makes you feel like you're better than everyone else. He was a down to earth kinda guy. Don't even get me started on that smile of his.
He was definitely a nice guy and any girl would be lucky to be his other half.

"What's up girlie."
"Nice to see you too Poppy." I said as the push/pull doors shut behind behind me.
She tied her braids up in a scrunchie and she wearing a simple short dress with a tiny slit at the side accompanied with a jean jacket.
Classy Poppy. Always looking hot in anything she wore.
There was only one customer and Gretel was trimming his hair. The boys were no where to be found.
"Hi Gretel." I gave her a small smile.
She gave me a small wave without even glancing my way. Odd..
"Ignore her, she hasn't gotten some, You know." She gave me a wink and I chuckled.
"Mind your business Pops." Gretel responded
"Where are the guys?" I asked.
"Yuri's talking with them upstairs."
Yuri was our boss. He was a 40 year old man with tattoos all over his body, including his face. He immigrated from Russia many years ago with his mother who sadly passed away last year.
Yuri had the bad guy kind guy kind of vibe but actually, he was a 5 year old in a 40 year old man's body.
"What did they do this time?"
"They were making sex jokes in front of a married woman. And she didn't really like their language." She chuckled like she remembered what they said.
"What did they say?"
She looked at Gretel and her customer before tiptoeing to me and whispering.
"Oh my goodness." My hands flew to my mouth when she was done.
