Tuesday evening; after school

Leo was acting weird and everyone saw it but nobody said anything until they realized that he had yet to say anything since getting home, which was unusual for the kid seeing as he usually rants about anything and everything he can

So when they realized this they decided to send Davenport and Chase to talk to him

Which brings us to Leos room where he was sitting on his bed while doing some homework when he heard his door open

Leo looked up to see his step dad and his brother walk in before focusing on his homework again

"Hey Leo" Chase started

Leo gave a little wave

"Leo" Davenport tried

Leo looked up and saw them staring at him and subconsciously backed up a little

He raised his eyebrow in question

"Are you okay?" Chase asked

Leo nodded with a small smile but his family saw right through it

"Leo" Davenport started "we know your 'everything's fine' face and that's not it"

Leo furrowed his eyebrows and continued doing his home work

"Leo" Chase tried "please tell us what's going on" he said as he crouched next to the bed to look at Leos face

Leo shook his head

"Please?" Chase tried again but a little softer this time

Leo glanced at Davenport then looked at Chase and shook his head again

'No way in hell am I talking about my feelings around him just for then to be invalidated' he thought

Chase looked at Leo for a moment before looking up at Davenport and getting the message

"Hey Mr Davenport, I think I got this, you can go back down to the lab" Chase gave him a knowing look as he talked

Davenport nodded and left the room, closing the door behind him

"Hey, he left" Chase said gently "you wanna tell me what's going on now?"

Leo looked at Chase and started slightly tearing up

Chase grabbed Leos homework and put it on his bedside table and sat next to Leo

"What's wrong?" Chase asked quietly

"There- there's a- you know the new kid?" Leo couldn't figure out how to start "I think his name is Kai"

Chase nodded

"I was- I was assigned to- to show him around the- the school" he paused for a second as Chase hugged him around his shoulders "and I kept try- trying to talk to him- I was just trying to be nice and he-"
