Jesses pov:
As Hoppo carefully directs me to the med area, I feel rather useless. The boys also are acting rather strange around me. Hopefully this won't stay like this for long, as I can literally feel all their judging eyes on me.
„I recon you need that, ay." Reidy says, suddenly standing right in front of me. Not feeling really able to talk or even worse, answer any of all their questions, I simply nod in appreciation as he hands me my phone.
„We are all here for ya mate." he softly says and pats my back, before he retrieves back to look over the beach again. A warm feeling spreads throughout my body at his promise. Happy that they indeed all care and are there for me no matter what. Seeing my phone blinking, I open it up to see who might of tried to contact me. Marco was the first who wrote me that they got my sweet cheeks to the hospital safely and without any further troubles which was extremely good to know. The next text was from Stephen, who once again reminded me that he is always here for me. And then came the three missed calls from my baby sis doctor. Alone from seeing them my fear yet again overtakes everything within me. The starting panic right away has a tight grip on me as my thumb hovers over the call back sign.
When I look up, I see that my brothers in blue were concentrating on something else on the beach. Hoppo also seems to be absorbed in his phone call, so I slowly and as quietly as I possibly can, stand up and walk towards the door. When I hear the klick, I am rather certain that they all heard, but thankfully they didn't. So without thinking too deeply on what I was doing, I head out of the tower and walk towards our changing rooms. At that time of day, it usually is empty and today is no exception to that rule. After I checked once again that I indeed am alone, I call the doctor back.
„Jesse! Good that you are calling me back. You got me really worried." he picks up after the second ring in quit a rush.
„Sorry, I had a few minor panic attacks after my baby sis got into the chopper. How is she? Please tell me that she is good!" I excuse myself for missing his calls as I also ask how my baby girl was doing.
„Her status is the same as when she got here. Marco told me what had happened and I can only tell you how amazing you did. Without your quick help, I don't even want to think of what could of happened." Prof. King explains as I slowly start to calm down, well, at least a bit. It also is good to hear that I did good and that my help indeed made a difference.
„Anyway, I am assuming that you want to come by and visit your sister?" he further questions even before I could reply to his earlier statement.
„That is indeed the plan doc." I firmly state. Wanting him to know and understand that nothing is going to stop me from visiting her. His amused chuckle confuse me, I after all meant it, yet I stay quiet. Allowing him to say what he intended to.
„I will tell the lady at the reception that you are allowed to visit her then. Just make sure you bring some legal document along so she can check that you are indeed who you say you are. We after all put her case as classified so no paparazzis can get to her." he said, still rather amused off my prior statement.
„Just please don't drive yourself Jesse. Alexandra needs you in one piece when she wakes up, so let someone drive you." he adds rather stern. Guess he does know me well enough to know that my head is not fully working with all of the panic still swimming within me about my baby girl.
„Marco already told me that I wasn't allowed to drive myself. So no worry's. Just watch her till I get there." I say in resignation, knowing fully well that I won't hear the end of it if I should drive myself.
„Will do mate. Take care and see you in a bit." he says and hangs up the phone.
Since I already am in the dressing room, I decide to quickly get changed into my civil clothes. When I was fully dressed, I grab my back pack and head on back to the tower. Hopefully Hoppo won't be too furious with me.....
just as i think that, Deano rounds the corner and stops right in front of me. His eyes seem sad, yet shine with sympathy and quiet support for me.
„Hey mate. Hoppo is worried sick, he is looking for you all over the promenade like crazy." he softly says. Seemingly afraid he might say something that will trigger me.
„Sorry, I only meant to grab my stuff and make a quick phone call." I answer and bite my lower lip in uncertainty. Maybe I should of told them that I was grabbing my stuff? Or even that I needed to make a quick phone call? I after all never meant for anyone to worry yet again about me. The last thing I want to be is an inconvenience.
„Na, don't worry. After this day Hop only is on edge, that's all." Deanos caring and encouraging words help me to not fall into a panic all over again.
„Hoppo mate, Jesse is with me in the changing room." he simply says as he opens up his locker as if it's the most normal thing to do. It only takes a minute top, before Hoppo came running into the changing room. Me still standing in the middle in fear he would be even more pissed if I move just an inch more.
„There you are buddy! Don't just run off like that. I was worried sick." he exclaims and right away pulls me into a tight embrace. My body immediately loosening up and allowing the hug to sooth my frigid nerves.
„Sorry. I only meant to get my stuff and call the hospital back since the doctor has tried to call me." I mumble out feeling a bit embarrassed.
„Is something wrong? Why did he call you?" hoppo right away questions in worry. Alone seeing him care like this makes me smile a bit. It after all really is good to have someone to care for my baby sis well being as well as mine.
„Alex is doing ok. He simply meant to tell me that her condition hasn't worsened and that I can come by to visit her whenever." I tell him in a mumble.
„He also wanted to remind me that he doesn't want me to drive a vehicle myself." I add as Hoppo stays quiet and simply nods along in understanding.
„That's good to hear bud, so how about I drive you to Sankt vincent hospital now?" he asks as I right away nod my head in agreement. Really wanting to see my baby sis!
