When I opened the car door, I was surprised to see Natasha sitting in the back seat, waiting for me.
*Russian*
"Hey, Little Spider."
"Hi Mama! I thought you were on a mission until next week."
"I finished early and wanted to surprise you."
"I'm glad you're back."
"How was your day?"
"Eh."
She studied my face for a moment. "What happened?"
"It's nothing, Mama." She was like another mom to me, with how protective she was.
"Do I need to kill someone?" she asked, dead serious.
"No, it's nothing."
"You sure?"
"Yes. Do I really need to give you the 'No Killing or Maiming Civilians' speech?" I asked sternly.
She shuddered. "Please, no. I'll drop it."
"Good."
"On a different note, you're training with me this week and we're having a civil war, same teams."
"Great. We'll crush them!" Civil war was something we did for fun. It was one giant war that could go on for the whole weekend. Pranks, Nerf, random fights, almost anything is fair game, barring only killing and severe maiming. [Actual civil war didn't happen.] The teams were:
Blue: Clint, Dad, Vision, Thor, Steve, and Sam.
Red: Natasha, Pietro, Wanda, Loki, Bucky, and I.
Bruce was neutral, since we didn't want to accidentally Hulk him out. Everyone who works at the tower is alerted because they can sometimes get caught in the crossfire.
"For sure. Be careful, it starts at six."
"Got it. Gather the team and start trapping labs. Grab my current projects, so they don't get ruined. I'll hack Friday and have her not be able to tell Dad anything."
Amusement danced in her eyes. "Good idea."
We pulled up to the tower and I hopped out and ran straight to the elevator. Friday took me straight to floor 20 and I immediately rushed to the lab. When I walked in, James turned to look at me. "Hey, Junior."
"Привет," I said before blushing and switching back to English. "Hi."
He laughed. "Romanoff pick you up?"
I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly. "Yeah."
He nodded. "Guys! Baby Stark's here!"
I groaned at the new nickname but ignored it for the moment. "You guys need anything?"
They shook their heads. Twenty minutes later, I was headed back upstairs. I smiled; I loved talking with them. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, my senses told me to dodge left. I did and caught a knife that was aimed right where my head was a second ago. Since flying deadly projectiles were normal in our family, it didn't faze me, and I continued to the kitchen, catching arrows and knives along the way. I heard Natasha shouting at Clint in the background. Guess the war started early. I grabbed an apple and started towards the living room. I calmly jumped onto the ceiling to avoid another arrow, catching it mid-air. Natasha spotted me and smiled, sending me a silent message. I grinned and walked until I was right above Clint. I slowly lowered myself upside down behind him on a web.
I smirked. "Ahhh!" I yelled.
Clint screamed and I swung to the side as he punched instinctively before kicking him to the ground, finishing the short fight. "Wha- Peter!"
I snickered. "One point for red team."
He pouted. "Not fair."
"Anything goes."
He huffed and walked away to try to figure out how to get me back. Natasha looked at me. "Good one."
I laughed and dropped to the floor, dissolving the web.
(Saturday. 7:39 a.m.)
I worked quickly and quietly to load all of Clint's glitter bombs and nerf ammo into my bag. When I finished with that, I set up a trap. I volunteered for this task since I was the best suited for sneaking into his nest. The others were distracting team blue while I crawled through the vents, setting traps for Clint and stealing his stuff. I dropped out of the vents and crawled on the ceiling to our base, which was in Natasha's room because no one wanted to mess with her stuff, so it was a safe zone. I unpacked and organized the stolen supplies and food I got in the kitchen, running over our list. Prank supplies, weapons, food, extra clothes in case we got glittered, and my current projects so they didn't get ruined.
I smiled, grabbed supplies and snuck back out, headed to the training room to rig team blue's stuff. I disabled any traps on my team's and rigged the rest. I smiled at how easy it was for me. My spidey senses warned me of an incoming prank, and I could sneak anywhere because I could hear people's heartbeats and breathing, so I could tell how many people were in a room, (or the building if I focused) and if they were asleep.
"Wanda!" I heard Vision shout a couple floors up.
"Sorry not sorry, Vis!" she called back.
I laughed and checked the footage from the camera I have set up for the scores, so my team doesn't have to go to it. We got a lot of points by trapping the area. We were winning 12-5. I grinned and went back to the base.
~Time Skip, 4 hours~
I was playing Mario Kart with Pietro, crushing him until I got a message on the walkie talkies we used as fake comms.
"Hey Pete. We have Natasha hostage," Dad said.
I paused the game, smirking as I checked Natasha's hidden cam. They had her. Everything was going according to plan. They were foolish enough to bring her straight to their base, which we now knew was in Cap's room. I pressed the speak button. "What do you want?" I asked, making my voice sound just the right amount of nervous. If they wanted, they could eliminate her from the game, and I needed to pretend I was nervous about that.
"Uh... Give us a sec." Dad said.
I burst out laughing. He returned a moment later. "We want..." he started to list a bunch of stuff. I watched as Natasha bugged the place while they were crowded around her walkie talkie. She rolled her eyes, giving a thumbs up to the camera before rolling a couple of fake glitter grenades under their feet. They were fake so they didn't cover the cameras with glitter.
Clint saw them first. "Take cover!" he shouted.
They both dived behind tables while Natasha walked out the door, smirking.
Ten minutes later, she walked into our base and sat down beside me. "Good job," I said.
(Sunday. 5:30 p.m.)
Loki's voice came over our actual comms. "We've got Sam in custody. We're taking him to the holding room."
We made the adjacent room our holding room so they couldn't actually affect us if they got loose, but we had pretty good security and they probably wouldn't get loose anyways. I smiled. "I'll do negotiations, what do we need?" I always did negotiations because, apparently, it's hard to tell me no.
"They took the new arm you made me from the lab," Bucky said.
"And my widow bites."
"And I want one of Thor's poptarts," Pietro chimed in, making me laugh.
"Head over and regroup." I went to the adjacent room and sat in front of Sam. I set up a tripod camera and hacked the screens to show my footage. "Hello, team blue. We have Sam and will eliminate him if you do not give us what we want," I said with a huge grin just to unnerve them as I held up the walkie talkie. "Contact us with this in the next minute."
