"Attention" was the sound that quickly awoke the young apprentice, who had only returned to Dreadfort late last night having been out on patrol all day. With the constant concern of the Nether forces breaching Frostbourne defences, the number of patrols had to be doubled. On the one hand it was understandable why Lyria had overslept, however she knew that her superior officers would not tolerate excuses. With morning parade well under way, Lyria wasted not time in throwing the bed covers off, hastily changing into her uniform before finally attaching her precious elytra to the back of her jacket. Despite Lyria missing half of the parade, she could still get away for being late providing she could get there before her name was called during role call. In a desperate attempt, she rushed out of her room and down the stairs of the Frostbourne's officers cabin. Once she was outside she dashed along the snowy paths to where the parade was being held.

Lyria let out a small sigh of relief when she quietly slipped into her position in her division. She had only just made it as a few seconds later her name was called out by Commander Hilda, who happened to the parade master this morning. "Captain Lyria" Commander Hilda shouted waiting to here a response so she could mark Lyria present. "Present Commander" Lyria responded standing to attention as she did so before she fell back to ease. 'That was lucky' thought Lyria to herself. While her absence may have gone unnoticed by most, those in her division would have seen her slip in but were not the kind to give her away. After all she was the one with the highest rank in her division. Speaking of which this role came with many responsibilities on top of those of being an apprentice.

There was no doubt in Lyria's mind that her mentor and close friend, Captain Azura, was expecting Lyria to follow her up to her lab. Trying to avoid her mentor before Lyria could have breakfast was no easy task. As soon as Commander Hilda dismissed the parade, having made no announcements today, Lyria began to sprint towards the tavern. The idea going through her mind was if she could make it to the tavern without bumping into Azura, then she could have a bite to eat and bring Azura a cup of coffee to avoid explaining why she was late.

"Good morning Lady Lyria. Who will you be fetching drinks for today then?" the bartender for that morning laughed upon seeing Lyria, who would often fetch drinks for the other officers including alcohol despite being underaged. However childish she could appear at times, she was responsible enough to order alcohol and not to get drunk, because being Azura's apprentice meant she had to be far more careful with the chemicals she worked with on a regular basis. "Good morning to you too. Can I have a coffee to bring to Captain Azura?" Lyria asked helping herself  one of the sandwiches on display since all the soldiers' meals were paid for by the army. "Sure but I thought she was trying to avoid drinking coffee. Complaining how bad it was for you and all that but I suppose she must be tired with all the extra hours." said the bartender while he went off to brew the coffee. "Probably" yawned Lyria just thinking about it. The bartender return with the coffee saying "I hope there will be a chance of everyone getting some rest soon." Lyria took the coffee from him having finished her sandwich and thanked him before turning to leave.

She briskly made her way to the castle so she could get to the lab but was careful not to spill the coffee. She had begun climbing the spiral wooden staircase inside the castle when she bumped into Commander Hilda. "Commander Hilda." she said saluting with her free hand. "Ah there you are Lyria. Can you deliver these orders for me?" Commander Hilda asked. "Um of course Commander." Great, now she was certainly bound to get into trouble with Azura.

Hilda realised that the teenaged captain was probably fetching coffee for Captain Azura and so she asked if Lyria wanted her to take the coffee to Captain Azura. Upon agreeing to this arrangement Lyria passed her the coffee while taking the orders from Hilda's left hand. She watched Lyria salute once more and rush back down the stairs and so she turned around and walked up the stairs in the opposite direction.
