He sprinted through the forest, dodging trees. His jacket was blowing wildly as he ran at an inhumane speed. He halted. Just like how the galaxy is a resting place for the dead – or so Anouke claimed – this area had become a graveyard of roses.
It was stunning. It was at the border of the human town. The beauty wanted to make Lex break down again. It was like Anouke had sunk into the ground, and from that a humble and striking rose stood spectacularly amidst a bed of flowers. He wanted to pick the flower from the ground and take it with him. He rethought it though, realizing that would kill the flower. And that felt like it would be killing Anouke all over again.
After all, this was the very place that Anouke had passed away. The very place his body vanished in to thin air. The very place... his soul had finally met peace. Why did I come here? It was like I was supposed to. Lex thought, though in his grief he couldn't tell it was his mourning. He just wanted to say one last goodbye to the real Anouke he last saw.
He left, walking back to the cabin in the horrid winds of the night, the rose swaying.
