Your POV

I began to wake up in my bedroom. A hint of sunlight began to hit me in the face as I did. I got out of bed, stretched for a bit, and opened the curtains in my bedroom. It was a bright and sunny day, but I was feeling ice cold, like I have been since my childhood.

I heard a knock at my door, and heard my mother's voice on the other side.

"(Y/N), are you awake yet?" She asked.

"Yes, I am awake." I replied.

"That's good. Make sure to come downstairs and eat breakfast." She told me as I heard her footsteps, leaving my room.

I took a deep breath before going out of my room, and headed to the dining room where breakfast is waiting for me.

I walked into the dining room where my breakfast was waiting for me. I looked

towards my mom who seemed to be cleaning the dishes in the kitchen. By the front door was my dad, who was getting ready to go to work.

"Alright everyone, I'll be back soon!" My father said to both me and my mother.

"Bye darling, have a good day at work." My mom said, giving my dad the cutest smile ever.

He smiled back. He wanted me to say something as well, but all I said was... "Yeah, bye."

He left the house, and I sat down and started eating my breakfast. My mom sat down across from me and tried to talk to me.

"So, how are things at your new school?" She asked.

"Boring." I scoffed. I meant what I said, the school I go to for my third year of high school is pretty boring.

"O-Oh, but... ummm... you were able to make some new friends though, right?" She asked.

"There's no point in making friends." I replied.

"Oh, and why's that?"

"Because the second you do make friends, they'll find a way to hurt you, and avoid you like you don't exist at all."

My mother became sympathetic. She must've forgotten about what happened at the park when I was younger.

"I get why you're upset, but trust me, not everyone is like that." She said to me.

"I doubt it..."

"I know it sounds hard to believe, but trust me, you'll meet someone who will actually want to be your friend."

I let out a small sigh.

"Well, if you say so..."

Location - Downtown Area

School was done for the day, and I began make my way home. How was it you might be asking? Well, it was ok. I was alone, as usual, and no one bothered to approach me. But it's fine, I'm used to being isolated at this point.

As I was making my way through the downtown area, I noticed something that caught my attention. There were posters everywhere for a festival that was happening here in town. I stared at the poster for a while, and then...

"Interested in the festival, huh?"

I jumped as I heard someone calling out to me. It was a female who appears to be the same age as me.

(Ignore the background)

She had sleek, marron hair that was decently long and she had turquoise eyes that are quite slanted. And based on the school uniform she's wearing, she goes to Haneoka as a third year.

"That festival happens every year, you know?" She pointed out.

"It does? I had no idea." I replied. Out of the times I visited the downtown area, I had no idea this festival even existed. I guess you do learn something new everyday.

"Yeah, it's going to take place next month, so things will be hectic here for a while." She said.

"I see."

"Say, we are a bit short-handed in terms of staff members. Do you think you'll want to help out?" She asked.

This is to new for me. Someone actually wants me to help out? But unfortunately, my cold persona had to kick in.

"Seems like a waste of time if you ask me." I said and began to walk away. But as I started walking away, the girl shouted.

"Hey! You have no right to say!"

Whatever, I really didn't care what she say. But still, she did asked me if I wanted to help out, which made me feel... included.
