The day of the festival...
Location - Downtown Area
Your POV
Today is the festival here in the downtown area. The staff, Tomoe and I put a lot of effort into making sure that everything is setup and ready to go. For someone who didn't want to do this in the first place, I was quite surprised by how badly I wanted to succeed at this.
A few hours have gone by, and the festival is in full swing. A lot of people were here, and I even managed to come down here with my family. My parents were proud of me that I was able to contribute to the event.
"Wow, son, this is a lively festival." My mom said.
"We were quite surprised when you told us you were helping out, and we were a bit nervous that you might start to push people away again, but it seems like you've grown out of it." My father said. "We're quite proud of you."
"Thanks, mom. Dad."
"Don't sweat it." My mother said.
"That being said, which stall is yours again?" My father asked while scanning the festival.
"Oh, I'm the ring toss stall, and it's like towards the middle of the area." I said as I guided my parents over there.
As we were walking over to the stall, I saw a familiar person with a smile on her face.
"Hey, look who decided to show up?" Tomoe said, who is happy to see me.
"Hi Tomoe, nice to see you again." I said as she and I shook hands.
"Likewise. Are these your parents?"
"Yep, this is my mom and dad." I said. "Guys, this is Tomoe, the one who was helping me put the festival together."
"Hey, nice to meet y'all." Tomoe said and shook my mom's and dad's hands.
"Nice to meet you too, Tomoe-chan." My father said.
"Thank you so much for watching over our son while you were getting the festival ready." My mom added.
"I should be the one who should be saying thanks." Tomoe softly smiles.
"All of this started because of the staff members who was helping with the preparations got sick. If it weren't for (Y/N), I'm sure the festival would've been delayed."
Hearing Tomoe praising me like this is a little embarrassing. I have never been praised for anything before, so hearing it from her was... kind of nice.
"Well, it's good to know that our son has found a good friend in you after all of this time." My father said.
"We were worried that he wasn't going to have any friends during this last year of high school. But it's nice to know that he has you, Tomoe-chan."
Tomoe started to blush with embarrassment as my parents start to praise her.
"Hey now, no need to embarrass me like that." She said.
I let out a small chuckle.
"Sorry about them." I said. "They just-"
My sentence was caught off by something landing on my head.
"Hm? Is something wrong, son?" My dad asked.
"I think I felt a raindrop." I said.
Tomoe was about to say something when something lands on her head, too.
"Hey, I felt it too." She said.
Then one raindrop became two, then five, then ten, and before we knew it...
...it started raining.
"Well, this isn't good." My mom said.
"What do we do now?" My dad asked.
"Let's go to Hazawa Coffee!" Tomoe suggested. "My friend works there, and she can put us up for now."
"Yeah, good idea." I said as we all bolted to Hazawa Coffee.
Hopefully the rain will pass over and that it won't affect in any way, shape or form.
