A few days later...
Location - Shopping District
Your POV
Everyday whenever I get out of the school, the first thing I see is preparations for the festival that was taking place. It was honestly annoying to see everyone excited about something that only comes once year, and to be honest, I don't really see it. I'll never understand people or how they think.
Little did I know, though, that I was going to get involved in helping out with the upcoming downtown festival. While it made people happy, it didn't make me happy in the slightest. This is what happened...
I am walking home from school after sitting in the boring classroom like always. In order to get home, I would have to cut through the shopping district, as it is the quickest way to do so. While walking, something terrible happened...
"Do you think you're going to be okay?"
"Honestly, I don't think I am."
I looked over to the left, and I see that one of the staff members isn't feeling well, and he looks like he is about to throw up at any moment. The person who is helping him is that girl I met a few days ago.
"Maybe it's best if you go home, and take it easy." The girl said.
"I can't do that." The staff member said. "Who's going to help you and the others with the preparations for the festival?'
"Don't worry about that. I'll make sure to ask around. If not, we can manage on our own." She said and gave the staff member an assuring smile, trying to put him at ease.
"Thanks, Tomoe-chan. You're the best." The staff member said before coughing.
Looks like they're down a staff member, and that Tomoe girl is hoping that someone can fill in for that staff member who has fallen ill. I figured I should get out of there before I get spotted and get involved in something I didn't want to be apart of.
I proceeded to walk away from the sight, and tried to get home. However, it was too late...
"Hey! You!"
As I thought, she called out to me. I turned around and saw her walking towards me with a serious expression.
"You saw what happened earlier, right?" She asked.
"Yeah, I did."
"In that case, I'll cut to the chase; do you think you can help us out with the festival?" She asked.
I gave it some thought before giving her an answer.
"Well, I... umm..."
"Look, when we last met, we kind of got off on the wrong foot, but I am willing to put that behind us if you're willing to help us out."
Sounds like they really need some help, and it'll make me feel like a bad guy if I say no now, especially in front of everyone. Therefore, I let out a sigh and said...
"Okay, I'll help out."
"You will? Awesome! Do you think you can come this weekend?" She asked.
"Yeah, that should work."
"Awesome! By the way, my name is Udagawa Tomoe, and it's nice to meet you."
"Likewise. My name is (Y/N) (L/N)."
Tomoe and I shook hands after we introduced ourselves to each other. As we did, I began to feel strange on the inside. What is this warm feeling? Is this what it feels like to have a friend?
