chapter sixteen Wendy's story

The next day Yonkter and Peter woke up in excitement because they were going to see Wendy again they quickly ate breakfast and dressed then they raced out of their bunk in minutes i can't wait to see Wendy again yonkter said I know I can't either Peter said.

Then yonkter could tell that Peter was scared and gently hugs him wiping his eyes I haven't seen each other in a long time I'm scared that she won't remember me he said worriedly don't worry it's going to be alright I'm sure she'll be happy to see both of us yonkter said comfortingly.

Peter relaxs as yonkter gently kissed his cheek I'll go you can wait outside if you want yonkter said no it's okay I'll come with you he said grabbing her hand then they made their way to the hideout once they walked in Wendy was on the bench sewing as before hey mom! Yonkter said excitingly hey sweetheart Wendy said.

Hi Wendy Peter said nervously oh hey Peter Wendy said with a smile then Peter went off to hide near the entrance Wendy notices but doesn't acknowledge him then yonkter sits next to her so brings you to see me? Wendy asked well I was thinking about last time when visited you.

Told me how you brought me here and I thought that you didn't tell me your story of how you met Peter and how you came to stay in neverland yonkter said yeah of course I'm always happy to talk about myself and Peter she said looking over at Peter who still hiding near the entrance watching them from a distance.

But Wendy ignored him and began telling her story i remember pretty well what i went through it was similar to what you experienced but mine was a little different Wendy said what was it like? Yonkter asked curious it definitely wasn't a happy one she said my parents were a kind and beautiful couple my mom worked.

As a cook at a local restaurant and my dad was a lumberjack but one night everything seemed to be turned upside down when the Japanese launched an attack on the entire country of England my parents were scrambling to get into the bomb shelter but I was too afraid.

To move so I stayed on the bench under my bedroom window and lied there curled up and I hoped and prayed that I was going to be okay that I was going to survive Wendy said what happened to your parents yonkter asked.

Well they took shelter in the drawing room which had one window i knew that if a bomb were to crash through it that would be the end of my parents and that's what exactly happened i heard my parents screaming and then it was over my parents were gone and now I was all alone.

And wandering what was going to happen to me with no one to protect me i still stayed on the bench not wanting to move so I cried myself to sleep with nothing better to do and it was at that moment that I felt a warm hand touch my shoulder and with the warm touch came the soothing and comforting voice that was trying to comfort me and that's when I knew who it was Peter had finally come back for me.

To get me out of there I felt relieved that I finally was going to get out of there and get far away from that awful situation I fell into Peter's arms shaking from fear and Peter knew that I wanted to get out of there and without another thought he quickly carried me out of the nursery window he flew extremely fast avoiding any flying bombs and before I knew it I ended up here Wendy said.

Well I'm glad you decided to stay here after that yonkter said relieved well I'm glad you made the same decision Wendy said yonkter looked over at Peter to make sure he was still there and he was sure enough i better go it's getting late yonkter said it was nice talking with you Wendy said yonkter waved goodbye to Wendy as she got up to leave Peter still waiting for her in his hiding spot then they both ran out of the hideout without a second thought.

Then they stopped after a while Peter went up to yonkter and hugged her she felt relieved to be back in his arms again because gentle and comforting hugs were always her favorite especially when Peter gave them want to pick some grapes for a snack? He asked yeah but I hope I don't cut my hand on any thorns again yonkter said Peter gently hugs yonkter don't worry I'll watch over you he said gently thanks she said then they set off to find grape vines.

While they were searching for the vines yonkter grabbed Peter's hand I'm so happy here i don't want to go back to my country she said Peter smiled and began finger combing her hair i want you to stay here I need you your the only one who can soothe and comfort me when I get nervous in hard situations in which I face everyday he said I really appreciate you saying that you know I love you and I don't want that to change yonkter said while snuggling into his chest.

Let's go get some grapes before it gets too late Peter said she agreed and they headed off again and soon they found the grapes and picked as many as they could carry yonkter cautiously picked them so she wouldn't cut her hands on the sharp thorns and after they picked enough grapes they went to sit somewhere peaceful to share them.

I'm so happy that I chose to stay here I don't know what I would've done if I had to go back to the real world yonkter said while searching through the bucket of grapes I'm so thankful I found you I don't know what would've happened if I left you there alone with no one to talk, protect or keep you company he said while staring into her eyes.

I know it was very lucky that you got me out of there in time I don't know if I would've survived because I watched people's houses get completely demolished by a single bomb that fell through their roof yonkter said.

Well luckily your house didn't get completely demolished by the bomb it only crashed through the window of the room whare your parents took shelter but they weren't there when the bomb crashed through that one window but I was there on your roof when the bomb fell on top of your parents which was the moment that I knew I had to get you out of there right away so you didn't see the awful result of your parents and since they were already gone there was nothing I could do to save them.

But I knew I could save you so i sent Wendy to be by your side and I would meet her later Peter said glancing at her for a few moments they were silent and yonkter glanced at Peter who was pale and looked like he was going to cry yonkter held out her hand which he grabbed and pulled her toward him.

Yonkter knew what Peter was asking for and she threw herself into him then she kissed him they stayed like that for several moments before they let go then Peter sighed the memories of that situation were really starting to overwhelm me i just couldn't help myself i desperately needed that kiss to help me forget about it he said softly.

Yonkter took a deep breath it's alright I desperately needed that too but for me one kiss isn't enough to help me heal yonkter said Peter gently cradled yonkter's chin in his hands and gently kissed her again we can do this all day if you want he suggested yes please do I think we've had enough adventures for today she said.

Well it's great that we have the peaceful side of neverland Peter said hearing Peter say that made yonkter smile i really love hearing your voice yonkter said softly kissing his ear I'm very glad to have you as my lifelong friend and companion he said yonkter gave a tired smile and Peter hugs her should we bunker down for the night? He asked.

She leaned in and kissed him I'm very glad that we're back to our normal and peaceful moments together ever since cabrenia had taken her first step outside I've been missing these moments very much she said with a sigh she gently cuddles into his chest Peter smiles and picks yonkter up he then gently rested his cheek on her shoulder as he carries yonkter back to their bunk.

Once they walked in they got ready for bed but as yonkter was walking over to her hammock she collapsed from exhaustion breathing heavily and Peter knelt down beside her and gently rubbed her forehead with a wet, warm rag then he hugged her close and she soon remained her strength and Peter helped yonkter stand up then he helped her to bed and kissed her goodnight I love you Peter whispered I love you too yonkter tiredly whispered then they soon fell asleep dreaming of the adventures that were waiting for both of them.
