chapter five the acorn ball match

Yonkter and Peter spent the rest of the morning gathering acorns for the match that afternoon she couldn't wait to start the match i wander if I would win if I did a loopty loop she thought then she knew just how to spice things up a bit hey Peter let's have a contest whoever collects the most acorns gets to start the match yonkter said your on! Peter crowed.

Then they both ran off into the woods to start collecting yonkter ran off to the trees and Peter well he ran off to the cherry bushes yonkter started collecting them one by one counting them as she dropped them in her rainbow bucket 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 then she ran off to another spot to collect more. On her way she ran past Peter hurry up slow poke she said Peter laughed that girl is the cure for my loneliness she's so smart too whare did she learn how to find the best acorns? I guess I'll find out soon enough when the match starts he thought.

Meanwhile yonkter had found another perfect spot to collect more acorns again she counted them as she put them in her bucket 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 she continued that should be enough she said now back to the oak trees bet i have the most yonkter said we'll see Peter said so they both counted their acorns i have only 6 Peter said how many do you have? Peter asked I have 22 yonkter said wow that's a lot Peter crowed proudly well I guess that means you won you get to start the match Peter said oh yeah! She exclaimed I'm going to win yonkter said well I'm better than you so I'll beat you easily Peter said it's on! Yonkter said then Peter picked up one of his acorns and tossed it at her yonkter caught it in midair then she picked one up and tossed it at Peter I'll get you for that! He yelled yonkter ran laughing then they both started chasing each other around and tossing acorns at each other then that was when she walked up to Peter warped her arms around him and said i don't want to go back to my violent country I want to stay here with you forever hearing this made Peter smile and I don't want to give you back to that wasteland because your my daughter and I'll take care of you forever Peter said can I see the hideout? Yonkter asked of course you can Peter said and they ran away to the hideout to visit Wendy and meet the rest of the lost boys.
