"Where is this going to lead with you just standing there at my door, staring at me in the mirror?"

"No where good" A small smile slipped as he said the words.

It was the way he looked at me that got my heart doing summersaults. That butterfly effect in the pit of your stomach. It was strong enough to make you sick the amount of feelings I had for this boy.

A look of uncertainty mixed with curiosity on my face, I focused on his reflection in the mirror. "How do you know?"

He pushed himself off the side of the door he was leaning up against, stepping in further into my bedroom, he took a seat on my bed. "Because I came exactly for this."

Holding a comb in my hand, I dropped my arm to my side and half turned to take a look at him. "Are you flirting with me?" I smirked without intentionally trying.

"I could stop." His head facing towards the floor. I could see a smirk playing on his lips but he bit his lower lip before I could really tell.

"No, no, let's see what you've got Harnett. Show me how you swoon the female population." I challenged. Whether he took note of this or not, it was no secret the reactions he got from women around him.

"Swoon?"  He gave me a bit of a sour expression, most certainly mocking my choice of words. "I don't think I need to do or say anything special to 'swoon the female population". He air quoted, the sleeves on his shirt always longer and baggier than he needed, dangled as he made the gesture. "My looks are enough to snatch me up any girl." He cockily answered without breaking into a smile.

I throw him a fake smile through the mirror? "Yeah, I'm sure." I continued combing my hair.

Kaelem remained silent as he got up from my bed and stood behind me. His lips in a thin line, his eyes a deep blue swam with purpose and desire. He didn't lay a single finger on me yet I could feel the warmth of his body radiating off him causing the tiny hairs on my arms to rise.

His brow quirked up and my stomach flexed out of nervousness.

"Kaelem." I singsonged to break the growing tension in the room. "It's not going to work."   I swung my comb around.

Without turning to face him, I flashed him a piercing look through the mirror feeling a tad unsure of myself because of how close he was standing.

"You know..." He interlocked his hands behind his back, sensing the smirk on his face.

"I love the way you suck that full lip of yours in between your teeth when you get nervous." He breathed out lightly. His breath tickling the back of my neck.

I folded my arms over my chest, the comb still in my hand. "Really? That's all you've got?" I rolled my eyes.

Ignoring my snarky comment he skimmed my waist. A cocky smile swept over his soft features. "Right after you've done that thing with your hair."

"What hair thing?" I stood frozen. One hundred percent aware that he was igniting every nerve in my body.

"You tuck the right side of your hair behind your ear." He described, like it was so obvious.

A heating surge shot up my neck, I was so badly tempted to bite my lip, stopping myself before I proved him right.

I didn't know I did those things. And in that order.

I fiddled with my bottom lip, feeling his hot gaze on my rising chest.

I'm a bag of nerves, scared to make a move and prove his point. How does he know things about me I don't even know about myself? "I...how did you..." I stammer.
