Fanana made her way up Pride Rock and in the cave. Her pride mates squirmed out of her way like she was fire.
As the daughter of Kovu she knew discrimination would be adamant. She saw how some of the subjects looked at her dad and aunt still.
If only that was all, most of her subjects would like her. Fanana was unique looking.
She was thin like her evil ancestors with conniving look, bright purple eyes. She was red too. Not cheerful red like her grandfather. She was a brown red, a dark and evil red.
Evil she was not. Fanana wants to protect her subjects and home. She will prove herself when she is queen. She's planing on being a great leader, like Mufasa.
Now was not her time though. Her mother, Kiara is queen now and Fanana supported her completely.
"Great hunting today," Fanana said after delivering the aardvark to her mother.
"You didn't need to," Kiara answered cheerfully.
'In your absence father been over worked. I can hunt for you," Fanana explained.
"If it's a boy I'll name him Kijana," Kiara informed.
" If you have a girl?" Fanana asked, now sitting beside her mother.
"I still don't know," Kiara said between bites.
"I was thinking, Nzuri," Fanana recommended.
Fanana didn't hear the reply. Her attention shifted to a conversation on the far side of the cave.
"I hope the new one becomes leader instead," said the tan lioness named Maana.
"I'm moving to the northern pride otherwise," replied a light brown lioness named Mwasi.
"Can I come with you?" Asked Maana.
Fanana couldn't hear anymore. "I'm going hunting fore my self now. I'll be back by nightfall," Fanana tried to sound cheerful so she wouldn't worry her mother. Then she left before a reply.
A large rock protruded near a calm river. The sun beamed down and wormed the stone under Fanana's tortilla brown stomach.
She came hear every time to unstresse. The idea of her rule being stolen made her heart skip a beat. The threat or her subjects leaving made is heard to breathe. 'I have the unquestionable right of queenship and I will perform diligently. I will prove myself. You have nothing to worry about' she reinforced herself.
Fanana must of dozed off because she was woken by the most annoying lion in the pride.
"You scared away the prey again!" Mjinga shouted in anger.
Mjinga was the only male lion born right now. He was popular and friendly, but a menace towards Fanana. Her first memory of him, he scratched her deep across the snout and said it was play gone wrong.
His yellow fur and cream stomach splashed across the river until he was face to face with Fanana.
"I smelled those rogues in the area. Are you meeting them near?" Mjinga demanded.
Knowing how badly she wanted to claw him up, she simply walked away.
"Just like your kind to slink away." I will find out what your planing," he said while running up to her.
Flashes of anger flung through her veins. Instinctively her already pointy fur on her spine of her neck, puffed out even more menacingly. She buried her claws in the dirt instead though.
Suddenly yellow and brown wavy fur flashed before her. Teeth bared and claws extended, Mjinga threatens with his blue eyes.
Fanana prepares with claws and teeth in case Mjinga attacks.
The two lions stared at each other , both threatening to attack first. Fanana thought it would go like that forever, or until one of them died.
The tension was finally lifted when Mjinga spoke, "I will get my evidence, and then I will personally kill you." With that he left to finish hunting.
The day was an emotional reck that Fanana could not stand more. Sorrow tried to push it's way through her eyes. Fanana would not show weakness i the open.
Not long ago she found a long forgotten cave in the back of Pride Rock. Plant life have grown over the opening, hiding it from sight.
She found it by complete accident, she wanted to think. In reality somthing was calling her. Something ancient. She just knew there was a cave waiting for her.
Fighting or not, the cave was a safe place to cry and vent.
She let her paws lead her, while her brain shut down with grief.
Reaching the cave, she collapsed. Pain from her whole life poured out. Then the anger came. Imagining a pile of protruding stones as Mjinga, she swiped her clawed paw across it, destroying the stones.
A secret dark and narrow cave was revealed before her. She knew better than to go in, but the same calling drew her inside.
It took only seconds for her to see the strange lion.
Her hackles raised, claws drawn, she growled, "Who are you!"
"Don't you recognize a spirit when you see one," he said smartly.
Fanana shook in the spirits gaze. It was true, he was slightly transparent. A spirit visiting her. She didn't understand why. She was a little afraid.
"W....wh......y?" She tried to say breathlessly.
" I saw your curse and I wanted to help you," he said with a smile.
"Why you?" Fanana found herself able to speak again.
"I'm of your past kin," he answered with a smirk.
Her tortilla colored under fur was his bulk fur. Her red brown was his main color . The resemblance was there.
"By the way," he said. "I'm Zuraki.
