Mufasa was a young king then and I thought I could beat him, "Zuraki said to Fanana.

"He welcomed me in. In that time made Zira. I just don't know it at the time," Zuraki explained.

"I snuck up on Mufasa, but he still overplayed me. That's how I died." Zuraki explained with much bitterness.

                  "Oh. I'm sorry," Fanana said.

"Don't be. In  death I eventually found Zira," Zuraki said.

"We'll get it right this time," Fanana said proudly.

It was late day. Tazama wanted to make it good with Zazu, so she and Fanana took Zazu out to talk.

There was movement in the grass. Fanana stalked. She caught a sent she thought she would never smell again.

With out hesitation she leaped on Nygingi. Sinking her fangs deep in his throat. He fell limp.

Soon after she heard someone approaching. Fanana quickly ran away, but she knew her sent was all over the body.

It was silent for a while. Then she heard Jambazi's cry. It made Fanana's fur stand up.

The  cry turned into a defining roar of anger.

All animals ran from the rampaging lion. All that could run fast enuf.

Tazama was flying overhead. She saw Fanana and flew down.

"They tried to kill me," Fanana lied.

          "He got Zazu!" Tazama screeched.

The rain was pouring again as the pride grieved.

'It's my fault,' Fanana couldn't help but think.

Kiara gave a speech, "Zazu was not a lion, but he was brave as brave as one. He treated us as family. He was like a second father to me. He's no doubt with them now."

There was a moment of silence that erupted into crying. Fanana had to get out of there, but she stayed to avoid suspension. She bared all the guilt. She knew she deserved this torture..

Weeks passed and guilt became nothing but a small itch.

Fanana was with Zuraki and the others now.

"Nzuri will take your place as queen unless ...." Scar was interrupted.

"That can't happen," Fanana said. "I'm the oldest.

               "It can happen," Nuka growled.

"What do I do," Fanana cried. Of course the pride will pick her. Hatred and fear towards Nzuri swelled up.

"Get rid of her," Scar said.

               Fanana was struck back.

"You can do that. Right?" Zuraki asked. His eyes daring to say no.

Was it fear that made her say yes? Eany way she said yes.

Late that night Fanana carried Nzuri through the fain to the gorge, promising to show her something.

             Nzuri chatted the whole way.

Fanana knew the rain would wash away her sent.

Heart bounding Fanana dangled Nzuri the ledge. Grip loosening, Nzuri would fall to her death.

"Are you mad at me?" Nzuri asked sadly.

The question caught Fanana of gard. She sat Nzuri next to her.

"What do you mean?" Fanana acted dumb.

"You bean quit the whole time," Nzuri said innocently.

"No. I'm not mad at you. I just need to do something," Fanana started to cry.

"I know you can do it. Your the best," Nzuri smiled.

Fanana said suddenly, "You can't go home. Someone wants to harm you"

                "What!" Why?" Nzuri cryed.

"That's not important. I'll take care of that.  Just follow me," Fanana said.

They found a small cave for Nzuri in the Out Lands.

"Stay in hear until I come I come back. I'll bring food for you every night. If any one misses with you go for the eyes," Fanana informed.

"I'm  scared. I miss mom and dad," Nzuri said.

"You got to be brave," Fanana said.

Taking a deep breath Nzuri said, Can you tell me a story. Mom used to tell me a story about a lion with a powerful roar."

"I don't know that one, but I can tell you something else," Fanana said.

Fanana said, "Once there was a lioness with darkness inside her, put there by ancient evils.

"No mater how fast or far she ran, it caught up to her."

"Finally she gave up and it consumed her."
