Fanana's Curse: Lion King Fan Story

Chapter 2

            His name was Zuraki and he was of her kin. Besides that Fanana knew nothing else about him. When asked he went back to his original statement. He wants to help and his past was to old to mater. 

           Fanana could not trust someone with secrets. She offered to think about the offer and come back the next night. 

               She had all day to investigate. She asked her mother if she recognized the name Zuraki, and that one of the lionesses mentioned it in passing. 

              Kiara never heard of him and concluded he must be on Fanana's father side and would ask when Kovu came back from patrolling. 

                Not planing on waiting Fanana went looking for Vitani. Following her sent to the very top of Pride Rock, Fanana pause. 

          The top of Pride Rock was very steep. Fanana had to drag herself up by cracks running along ancient rock. The climb was hard and Fanana had to catch her breath. 

             Getting a fresh whiff of Vitani's girlfriend, Fanana thought about coming back later.

             She decided agents it. Time was if the essence and she knew Zuraki could be a threat. 

              "Can I come up?" Fanana asked.

             "Of course," Vitani said. 

              Vitani and Mpenzi laid together in a loving embrace. Mpenzi grooming Vitani as she purred. 

             Fanana felt bad for interrupting. 

             "You evil genius. Stealing Vitani again," Mpenzi teased. "How do you always find us." 

              "I'm turning your Vitani agents you," Fanana joked. 

               "How dare you," Mpenzi pretended to be hurt.

             "What's wrong Fan?" Vitani asked kindly.

          "Nothing wrong, just curious. Some one brought up the name Zuraki in passing. 

              "I've haven't heard of him in a while," Vitani sounded surprised. "I think he was Zira's father. 

               "You think?" Fanana was hesitant now. 

                  "I heard he was just a passing rogue. Zira didn't even know him," Vitani answered. She was clearly uncomfortable thinking of her mother. 

                'I guess he's not evil of he would of made a lasting impression. I don't like that he would keep that a secret though. He should know better than that with me.' Fanana thought.

               There were sudden roars from down below. Fanana immediately ran to assist the situation. She could hear Vitani and Mpenzi running behind her. 

             Fanana saw her mother at the opening of the cave, ready to jump into action. 

               "I got this mother!" Fanana shouted as she passed by. The cub was due any day now. 

                Fanana saw the pride surrounding the two rogues males that have bean plaguing them. 

             Rogues normally lived outside of pride tradition, but these rogues had no respect. Hunting for fun, harassing the lioness, they where not welcome.

            Jambazi the huge gray rogue and his mate Nyingi were keeping the lioness away, fore now. The stairs off had to stop now before someone gets hurt or worse.
