Sunset City, it has this name for the beautiful mornings, but in that day, there wasn't a beautiful morning, the city was in ashes because a mad man, known as Doctor Eggman, started his conquest of our planet, Mobius. There was a red wolf, his name is Gadget the Wolf, and he was trying to find his twin brother, Gizmo the Wolf. Their apartment was partially destroyed, the red wolf thought that it was already too late. Suddenly, he found himself in the middle of a cross fire between soldiers who were fighting a masked mobian, he tried to run from the battle, but he was stopped by the mysterious mobian, it was a jackal, it was easy to identify since jackals have a long tail with white details at the tip of it. The wolf decides to hide on the debris of a building, he could hear mobians screaming in pain, that masked jackal was attacking them, suddenly, a weapon was dropped right next to him, the wolf decides to fight the jackal.
???: I can taste your terror, child. All that anxiety and doubt... it's delicious.
The wolf froze, "That voice... that voice is so familiar, is that... no, it can't be him." he thought for himself.
???: Give in to your fear. Flee, screaming, and I'll let you live.
The wolf now had certain that the masked jackal was someone that he knew from his past, someone that he followed, someone that he cared for a lot.
Gadget: Z-Zero?
The jackal remained on his position, glaring at the wolf. He suddenly started to slowly descend from the air until he touched the ground, he uses his powers to catch Gadget and bring him more closely.
Infinite: My name is Infinite, and if you dare to call me by that name again, I will make you eat the remains of my enemies, understood?
Gadget was scared, his friend was treating him? That wasn't the person he know, something happened while he returned to his home town, Eggman had done something to him. He snaped from his thoughts when his body started to levitate from the ground.
Infinite launched the wolf to the other side of the park where they were, the impact made Gadget to fall unconscious.
