Chapter 1: The remains of who he was

 (PRESENT DAY)

Gadget has returned to his apartment, or what was left of it, he needed a time alone, to rethink about the events of the War for Mobius, what was known when doctor Eggman tried to take over the world with his new ultimate weapon, Infinite. But that was 7 months ago, everyone could return to their normal lives, rebuild their homes, find missing people...  But yet, our wolf cannot forget his last words, "No...NO! I still can fight!... ARGHH!" Those were the last words coming from Infinite in the final battle. What happened to him? His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a knock coming from the door. He jumped from his bed and made a rush to the front door. It wasn't someone he was expecting.

???: H-Hi, I'm here for the Share Program.

Gadget: Uh... what? Oh, I totally forgot!

Barry: Oh, no problem, my name is Barry the Quokka. My house was destroyed during the war, and I was chosen by the program to be your roommate.

The Share Program was created by the Restoration with the mission to help those who lost their lair during the war and didn't have a place to stay.

Gadget: Well, Barry, you are welcome. My name is Gadget the Wolf, and since we are going to be roommates, I could really use your help with some stuff.

Barry: Sure thing.

 Both mobians get inside of the apartment. Barry was surprised by the giant hole on the wall. Now he understands why Gadget was moving out.

Barry: So... I bought my microwave, thinking I was going to stay here, can we pack up your things with mine?

Gadget: Eh? Oh, yeah, sure, come on in.

Gadget showed to the Quokka a bit of his apartment's, there were already a few boxes ready to go to his van.

Gadget: You can put your microwave in this box.

Barry: T-Thank you.

 Gadget noticed the way Barry was feeling, of course, the wolf was the Hero of the Resistance, many people would feel like that, the best way to resolve this is comforting the colleague, but first he needed to be sure that Barry was acting like that because of him. 

Gadget: So Barry, what's bothering you?

Barry: Well... I never lived in someone's house. You are the first person.

Gadget: Oh... you don't need to worry about anything, you will be fine with me. 

 Gadget has gone to his room to pic up a box. But he got distracted with the stuff inside of it. There was some gems, artifacts and an album, he grabs the album and started to search to a photo, it contains photos of him, of his brother, of his parents and of some jackals, he tooked the photo when he was together with a jackal that has a scar on his right eye, talking about his eyes, the jackal has a blue iris for his right eye and yellow iris for his left eye, he was with his arms crossed, and around the two mobians.
