CHAPTER TWENTY:

As (Y/N) and her best friend Zoé Lee strolled along the scenic path leading to the Couffaine family's boat house, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves overhead.

The duo had been invited by Juleka Couffaine, a friend they had made through their shared love of music and shenanigans.

The sun cast a warm glow upon their surroundings, setting the perfect mood for a day of practice and surely nothing else.

As they walked, Zoé suddenly turned to (Y/N) with a mischievous smile on her face. "Hey, (Y/N), can I ask you something?" she inquired, her eyes glinting with curiosity.

(Y/N) looked at her friend, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks. "Um, sure, what's up?" she replied, feeling a mix of anticipation and apprehension.

Zoé's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Do you like Luka?" she asked, her tone teasing yet gentle.

Embarrassment washed over (Y/N) as her heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected Zoé to bring up Luka, a member of their band Kitty Section and someone who had caught her attention more than once.

(Y/N) wasn't sure how to respond. She hadn't yet figured out her own feelings, and the sudden question caught her off guard.

Plus she was supposed to hate his guts— That was until he saved her from another one of Chloé's shenanigans.

Now that (Y/N) had a good thought about it, she realized that Luka was always saving her from trouble at school. He could be annoying at times, but (Y/N) will admit that he's not so bad.

Before (Y/N) could form a coherent reply, they arrived at the boat house, their destination for the day.

Marinette was waiting by the entrance, her bright blue eyes lighting up as she spotted the two friends.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Hey, Zoé! So glad you could make it," Marinette greeted them warmly, her voice filled with enthusiasm.

Relieved to have a momentary distraction, (Y/N) smiled back at Marinette. "Thanks for having us, Marinette. We're really excited to be here."

Marinette beckoned them to follow her, leading them up the wooden stairs towards the boat house's upper floor.

As they climbed, (Y/N) caught glimpses of their band, Kitty Section, tuning their instruments and setting up their equipment for practice.

Her eyes were instantly drawn to Luka, who sat on a stool with his guitar in hand.

The melody that Luka played filled the air, weaving its way into (Y/N)'s heart.

It was as if his fingers caressed the strings with a tenderness that touched her soul. The music wrapped around her, captivating her senses and leaving her mesmerized.

Lost in her thoughts, (Y/N) was snapped back to reality by Zoé's voice. "Hey, (Y/N), Luka's coming up to you," she whispered with a knowing grin.

(Y/N)'s heart skipped a beat once more as she turned towards Luka, her face flushing with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. She watched as he approached her, a warm smile on his lips.

"Hey, (Y/N), glad you could make it," Luka said, his voice carrying a soothing charm that matched his music.

Nervously, (Y/N) returned his smile, her voice slightly shaky. "Thanks, Luka. I'm really looking forward to watching you guys practice."

As Luka took a seat beside her, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. She was unsure about her feelings for him, but in that moment, surrounded by the music they both loved, she couldn't deny the allure he held over her.

Luka turned to (Y/N) with a concerned look in his eyes. He wanted to make sure she was doing okay, especially in the presence of someone like Chloé, who had a reputation for causing trouble.

"Hey, (Y/N), how have you been?" Luka asked, his voice filled with genuine care. "Has Chloé been giving you a hard time?"

(Y/N) felt her heart race at Luka's attention. She wasn't used to someone looking out for her in such a protective manner.

Her voice wavered slightly as she replied, "Um, no, Luka. Chloé hasn't been bothering me. Everything's been fine."

Luka's concern didn't waver as he continued, "That's good to hear. But if anyone gives you trouble, don't hesitate to call me. I'll be there for you, (Y/N)."

(Y/N) blushed, her heart skipping a beat at his words.

She was about to ask him what he meant by "be there for her," but before she could gather the courage, Juleka's voice rang out, interrupting their conversation.

"Luka, come on! We need to start practice," Juleka called, her voice filled with excitement.

Luka winked at (Y/N), a playful smile gracing his lips. "I'll catch up with you later, (Y/N)," he said, his eyes sparkling with a mix of mystery and warmth.

(Y/N) watched as Luka made his way towards Juleka, joining the rest of the band on the stage.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. The air in the boat house hummed with anticipation, and (Y/N) knew she was about to witness something extraordinary.

As Kitty Section began to play, (Y/N) found herself captivated by the harmonies and rhythms.

The music enveloped her, carrying her away on a wave of emotions. Yet, despite the collective talent of the band, her focus remained firmly fixed on Luka.

His fingers danced across the strings of his guitar, each strum releasing a melody that resonated deep within (Y/N)'s soul. His voice intertwined with the music, weaving a tale of love and longing, stirring something profound inside her.

(Y/N) couldn't tear her eyes away from Luka. The way he poured his heart into every note, the passion that emanated from him, it was enchanting.

The world around her faded into the background, leaving only the music and the boy who had captured her attention.

The performance came to an end, and the room erupted in applause. The band members exchanged satisfied smiles, basking in the shared accomplishment.

But (Y/N)'s heart raced with a different kind of exhilaration. She had witnessed Luka's musical prowess up close, and it had left an indelible mark on her.

As the applause died down, Luka turned to (Y/N), his eyes meeting hers with a knowing gaze. "Did you enjoy it?" he asked, his voice filled with quiet confidence.

(Y/N) nodded, her cheeks tinged with a blush. "It was amazing, Luka. You guys sounded incredible."

Luka grinned, his eyes twinkling. "I'm glad you liked it. We put our heart and soul into our music, and it means a lot when someone appreciates it."

Unbeknownst to the two, Zoé was casually listening to their conversation. Beside her was Marinette and Alya, along with Juleka and Rose.

And idea struck them all at the same time. The game of love was a dangerous game to play, but the girls thought (Y/N) and Luka needed that push.
