{Jimmy's POV}

It'd been a month since I fell off my bike and Tango had become my partner.

It'd also been two weeks since I'd seen Scott at school.

It was the beginning of June; we had about two weeks left of school. If it was anyone else, I would've just thought that Scott's parents took him on vacation.

But I'd known Scott, and Grian knew Pearl, one of the nicer popular kids and Scott's friend. Scott's parents didn't do that.

So even though Scott had screwed me over, even though he made my life a living hell, even though he probably hated me now, I couldn't bring myself to not be concerned.

"Do you think it's odd that we haven't seen Scott at school for a while?" I asked Tango one Friday.

He shrugged. "A little, but I never knew him very well. Maybe he's on vacation. Why do you care?" He winced. "Sorry. That sounded rude."

"Don't worry, I get what you mean. He was a jerk, but I'm worried. His parents aren't like that, they don't take him on vacations, especially not when it interferes with school. It's hard to suddenly not care about someone at the flip of a coin, even when they hurt you."

Tango was silent for a bit. "Yeah," he said finally. "I get it. But can we do anything?"

It was my turn to go silent in thought. "I dunno. I can try texting him."

Tango nodded. "Sounds like a plan."

Jimmy: Scott?

Jimmy: Scott are you okay? Why haven't you been at school?

Jimmy: Scott

Jimmy: Scott please reply I know I shouldn't be but I'm worried

I looked up. "No response yet."

Tango looked around. We were at the park. "Want to swing? Might be a good idea to take your mind off things."

I nodded, and we climbed on the play equipment.

{Scott's POV}

Of all the people I expected to text me when I disappeared, never in a million years did I think it would be Jimmy.

Cod Boy: Scott?

Cod Boy: Scott are you okay? Why haven't you been at school?

Cod Boy: Scott

Cod Boy: Scott please reply I know I shouldn't be but I'm worried

I'd forgotten that I hadn't changed his contact info.

Scott: jimmy why do you care

Scott: i hurt you you should've left me behind

Cod Boy: Where did you go?

Scott: you didn't answer my question. why do you care

Cod Boy: You didn't answer my question either. And I care because even if you hurt me I don't want you gone
