Skylar's P.O.V

It had finally happened. I got my Hogwarts letter. I was so worried and for what? This was it. This was the beginning of what was soon to be the best years of my life.

"What are you waiting for!?" Harry asked impatiently, sitting down on the bed next to me. We had gone up to his room to open the letter, because god knows what would have happened if I had opened it in front of the Dursleys.

I was beaming as I broke the wax seal with the Hogwarts crest on it. I quickly picked out the parchment inside and tossed the envelope, opening the paper to read it.

"Dear Miss. Skylar Lilly Potter," I red aloud "We are pleased to inform you that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry has accepted you to start as a first year this term!" I squealed in excitement (weird because I NEVER squeal) and started jumping on the bed, spinning as I clutched the paper to my chest.

But of course I lost my footing and fell on the hard floor with an almighty thud.

Classy I thought as I got back up. Harry was looking down at me with a smirk on his face, and I just rolled my eyes at the boy.

I sat back down and started skimming over the letter. "Platform nine and three quarters..." I mumbled. "Ah, here we go. This is the list of stuff I need," I declared handing the list to my brother.

"Oof," he said "buying it will be the easy part, now how to convince uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia to take us to go get it is the challenge."

"Didn't you say that wizards could teleport or something?" I questioned, raising my eyebrow slightly. If we could teleport we could be in and out tonight without the Dursley's ever having to know.

"It's called apporating," Harry corrected "and only licensed wizards who are of age are allowed to do it."

"Oh," my face fell at the idea of having to ask the Dursley's for anything. It was bad enough they barely made the minimum requirements for us, and still rubbed it in our faces that they were providing everything we had.

"Let's not think about that for now," Harry decided "let's enjoy your birthday as the one night we aren't being picked on by Duddly, or hassled by our nosey, but still careless aunt and uncle."

I laughed at Harry's description of the Dursley's. I couldn't even be bothered by the fact that it was all true. I was going to go to Hogwarts for the first time in my life, right along side my brother, and that was good enough for me.

"I'm going downstairs to read," I said to Harry as I waved goodbye and left the room, even though I knew I wouldn't get much reading in between my fantasies about Hogwarts.

It was about six pm, and I could hear the Dursley's in the living room with my uncle droning on about power tools, or something boring like that.

Suddenly I heard a thud from above me. Well not so suddenly. This had been happening for the past five minutes. I didn't know what my brother was doing upstairs but whatever it was it was going to get us both in trouble.

I set down the book I had been looking at but not reading for the past hour, and slowly opened the door.

I made sure no one could see me before I slowly tip toed upstairs, crossing the hallway, reaching the door to Harry's room, and opening it.

"Harry James Potter what the bloody hell are you—" but I stoped short, dumbfound, at what I seeing. Or what I thought I was seeing?

It was a short pale creature, no more than up to my thigh. It had pointed ears that stuck out to the side, and a long pointed nose that stuck out in front of it. Large round green eyes looked up at me with a nervous expression. Its head was much too big for its small skinny body. It had small skinny arms, that went with its legs and hands. It was covered in what looked to be soot, or dirt. It was dressed in an old pillow case, and looked as though it haven't ever SEEN a sandwich.
