Flying cars and whomping willows

Finally we made it to kings cross station. We had our trolly's with our belongings loaded on them. After we had left the book shop Harry took me to get an owl since he said he got one in his first year. He said the money was a gift from Hagrid, and Hagrid said he was sorry he couldn't give me a gift in person.

I had chosen an owl that was all white, except for a few black fethers on her wings, back, forehead, and belly. I named her Danger. I don't know why I picked this name, it kind of just stuck out to me.

Headwig and Danger were hooting as we were saying our last goodbyes to the Mr and Mrs. Weasley. Fred, George, Percy, and Ginny went through the magical wall that took you to platform nine and three quarters first, Harry, Ron and I to follow.

I stood behind them prepared to go after them, as I watched them run forward...and head straight into a wall.

Headwig hooted unhappily in protest, as Ron stood up, helping Harry to his feet and started picking up their stuff. "Why couldn't we go through!?" Exclaimed Ron, "That shouldn't have happened, that never happened to any of my brothers!"

"Are you guys alright?" I asked, going forward to see if anyone was hurt. "We're fine," said Harry, "But what are we supposed to do now?"

Ron snapped his fingers, "I have an idea! We can take dads car! They can get home by themselves, they have magic, they just uses it to travel with us!"

Harry and I exchanged glances, and then simultaneously said "Let's do it!"

We headed back to the car, loaded our stuff in the back, and got in, Ron in the drivers seat, Harry in the passengers, and me in the back.

On our way up, muggles left and right gave us bewildered and shocked faces. I have to admit it was pretty funny seeing their reactions.

It was glorious at first, flying high in the sky, occasionally dipping below the clouds to see we hadent lost the Hogwarts express, but then it started to get hot. The chocolates we were eating had melted in our hands, and my shirt was sticking to the seat.

It was soon over though when we reached Hogwarts. I was told a lot about the school, but words could not hold its actually magnificent beauty. It was a humongous, brick castle, with a lake at the edge, and a forest not far, and a gigantic field between the forest and the castle, which had what looked to be a giant stadium in the center.

Harry looked over, and smiled at my awed face, my jaw dropped and hands pressed against the window.

"It's really something, isn't it?" He asked, making me look over to him with a smile. "This is the SCHOOL!?!?" He just chucked softly.

Then the car started to sputter. "Uh oh" Ron mumbled, which is never a good thing. We started to go down, Ron with both hands on the steering wheel, trying to get us back into the air.

We were headed straight for a tree, a gigantic old dark brown willow. As we crashed into it though, it started hitting us! Pummeling the car with its humongous branches.

We opened the doors and jumped out, escaping just in time. Ron's wand had broken in the process and somehow he managed run and whine at the same time.

We ran straight up to the school, running thought the doors, just as a tall, dark looking man, with black robes and black hair caught us.

"Ahh, Mr. Potter, getting into more trouble I see. Come with me." He said, leading us out of the room and down a flight of stairs to what looked to be his office.

He continued to lecture us for ten straight minutes about being late, and damaging the tree, and muggles seeing us. I kind of just tuned him out, still star struck by this castle.

Then, and old woman, with a large pointed hat, and long robes came bustling in, followed by a very old man, with long hair and a long silver beard, with colorful robes. I had seen this man once before. In a dream. It was very odd seeing him in person.

"P-professor Dumbledore!" Ron stuttered, but was cut off by the old woman, who started scolding the dark haired man about me needing to change into my robes and is not being in his house and me needing to be sorted.

She turned and started leading out the door. "It's alright dear, I've gathered your things, all we need to do is get you into your robes, and into the great hall before the sorting is over."
