Christmas

So, my first year was going great. Yeah, I love going to a school where people are always panicking, people think I'm an offspring of an evil guy and am controlling a monster, and I can't go one week without there being an attack and getting blamed for it.

A ghost was paralyzed people! A ghost! and now everyones mad at me because they think I attacked Justin.

But none of that matters right now, because it's cristmas! I had spent cristmas eve dinner with Harry Ron and Hermione, and I had slept in Slytherin because apparently they do this thing every year where they all huddle up in the common room and read cristmas stories! its the cutest thing.

Everyone thinks the Slytherins are mean but they are all sweethearts.

Anyway, its cristmas morning and when I woke up, there was fake snow falling in my dorm. Draco wasn't there and I assumed he was downstairs with the others as I had slept in. I was going to meet them at breakfast, but when I got downstairs they were already there.

"Skylar!" Mattheo exclaimed when he saw me. "Look!" He held up a brown package, and then set it next to more brown packages, under a tiny tree that had a paper on It that read "Miss. Skylar Potter"

I walked over to it confused. "What are these?" I asked. "What are these?" Mia reiterated. "They're presents?"

"Presents?" I picked up one of the packages. I had never had "presents" before. Harry had tried, but usually it was just something like a book he had stolen from Dudly's room. Sweet, but we didn't have much. And the Dursley's never gave me so much as a potato.

One read "from Matteo". I opened it to find a magical necklace that yells when you're late. I was kind of funny. Mia gave me a bag of every wizirding candy imaginable, Pansy gave me some beautiful flowers that never die, and Blaize gave me a blanket that always makes sure your comfortable, and can cool you and heat you.

I got some things from others as well, candy, or cards, or little trinkets from people I didn't know.

I was still reading cards when everyone said they were all going off to do their own things (like Blaize had gotten a new broom he wanted to try out). I told them I would catch up with them later.

Draco came through the door just as I was packing everything back up. He pulled me into his arms and kissed passionately. We're not dating. It's a weird relationship, and we decided it was best not to tell anyone at the moment.

"Happy Christmas Skylar," he said, handing me a small box. I slowly pulled the string, and unraveled the paper to find an even smaller box. I opened that one to find the most beautiful set of silver rings I had ever seen!

Each one was a different size, and had a unique design on them. My eyes turned pink and I looked up at Draco to see him beaming down at me with pride.

"Glad you like them," he said. "I love them!" I exclaimed jumping to give him a hug. I put the rings on before heading outside, walking right alongside Draco, just talking.

"I'm going to stop by Gryfindor before I come to the great hall," I informed Draco and he nodded. We headed our separate ways, and I found the red and gold common room, decorated for christmas as well.

"Happy Christmas Skylar!" Ron, Hermione, and Harry all exclaimed when they saw me. "Happy Christmas!" I returned beaming at them.

They gave me presents as well. I apoligized for not having anything for them. "Actually," said Harry. "I'm glad you don't. I wanted to surprise you since Christmas in the past have been hard for us."

Like in the Slytherin common room, about a dozen Gryfindors I didn't know came up and gave me presents and cards as well. It was all very sweet, seeing as how I hadn't been expecting anything.

We headed to breakfast, which was absolutly amazing! The hall had been enchanted so that fake snow fell and landed on your head and shoulders. And all the food were traditional holiday dishes that you would see in magazines.

"Hey, Sky," Harry asked while we were eating. "Where did you get those rings?"

"Oh," I said looking down at my hands. "They were, um, a gift from a first year. I don't know her name."

I could see Draco smirking from the Slytherin table.

The entire day I went from Gryfindor to Slytherin, playing games, laughing, and having fun. The Christmas dinner was pretty good too. More holiday food filled our plates until we couldn't eat anymore.

I decided to sleep in Gryffindor that night. As I lay staring up at the red handings of my bed, I realized this was my first real Christmas.

I mean sure I've had christmas's previously, the day passes, but this was my first real celebrated one.

I had finally found somewhere where I belong. And for the first time, I had friends as well. This year was going great, other than the attacks, but I would solve that problem later.

Right now, I was just grateful that today had turned out so perfect.
