Chapter 4 - Living In Hell

"It's the first time I helped someone almost passing out and got ditched afterwards."

Everyone's puzzled while I heard a sudden ringing on my ear again. Shoot... Not now...

I lower my head, closing my eyes and covered my ears, secretly panting. The memory of how I got the scar on my left ear were playing inside my head.

"Ganito! Wala lang kasi 'yon, nakakainis naman kayo, e," I still could clearly hear Adamian's voice, sumasabay ito sa nakakarinding tunog sa tainga ko. "Wala lang 'yon, naglalakad ako pauwi tapos may nakita akong batang nagsuray-suray, 'yon pala nahihilo siya. Tinulungan ko lang siya," he continued.

I opened my eyes as the ringing in my ear slowly faded.

My eyes met Adam's which was staring deep at me. And I feel like he was asking me if I'm okay through his eyes, so I smiled at him. Napangiti rin naman siya.

"Oh? Talaga? Ano raw nangyari?" Archie asked.

"Wala, 'di ko tinanong. Ba't ko tatanungin? 'Di ako chismoso tulad mo, 'no!" Adam replied.

"Paano mo siya tinulungan?" Mom curiously asked.

I heaved out a silent sigh and sat straight as if nothing has happened to me just now.

"Ah, ginaya ko lang 'yong ginawa noon ni Lola noong may muntik mahimatay sa amin. Diniinan ko sikmura niya tapos ayon, bumalik na siya sa ulirat," he even demonstrated it.

His eyes and I met again, he flashed a smile at me before turning back to others as they were commenting to what he did. I stared at him. It wasn't the true story.

I sighed and smiled to myself. Is he really this nice? He still kept my secret.

"Okay, tama na. Laro tayo? Tara!" Archie suggested. "Uno!" then he took out an Uno cards from his pocket.

Some cracked up.

"Saan mo naman nakuha 'yan?" Claud asked, almost throwing himself on the ground from laughing.

Archie laughed and distributed the Uno cards. "Baon ko."

"Tara, sige. Dapat may consequence ang talo!" Zach said.

"Okay, game!" Jian exclaimed, raising his forefinger while still laughing a bit.

"Ano consequence?" Claud asked, looking at Archie.

"Sasabihin ang crush!" Archie blurted out, laughing.

"Huh? Baliw ka!" Adamian laughed.

"E, pa'no 'pag walang crush?" Venan asked, arching an eyebrow.

Archie raised his eyebrows at him. "Ikaw? Walang crush?"

Venan's brows furrowed and looked away. "Let's start the game," he said that was laughed by his friends.

We started the game and we have a non-verbal game decision, ang pagkaisahan si Josh na sobrang tahimik.

"Ahh! Ang daya ninyo!" reklamo niya nang magdagdag na naman siya ng card. Siya na ang pinakamaraming hawak na card habang dalawa na lang ang nasa kamay ko.

I laughed at that. He's cute.

I learned that he's the youngest though he's just one year younger than them. He was just two years older than me.
