"your hands become my wings, All the dark and lonely things, I will try to forget those" – You Never Walk Alone – BTS

Training, it turned out, was not as eventful as Yoongi had expected it to be. They had a long way to travel, and whereas Yoongi would have cut across country to save time were he on his own, they had to stick to as many roads as possible for the wagon. And that meant a lot of sitting around. Sure, they could shift and lope alongside the wagon, and they did for exercise, but it was in no way as stimulating as traveling cross country.

"It's good anyway," Hoseok had assured him. "This way, you can focus more on what we're trying to achieve."

"Which is?"

"Harmony between the three pieces of your soul. You must make peace with your alpha, heal your omega, and somehow bring them together. Otherwise, you'll never be stable."

In theory, it made sense. His inner omega was capable of suppressing his inner alpha, he'd seen that, but it came at great cost to him. If he wanted a pack, wanted a family, he had to figure out how to allow them both to exist at the same time. This was problematic, as his inner alpha refused to even acknowledge him. Here, away from his pack mates, it only had eyes for Jungkook. After three days practicing intense meditation under Hoseok's guidance, he still hadn't garnered more than a disgruntled growl from the beast.

So, he spent most of the time familiarizing himself with his inner omega instead. The gentler wolf had healed well, and it was more than happy to share its desires with him. He wasn't too surprised to find they were simple. It wanted a pack. A place where Yoongi could experience all the things a wolf was supposed to.

There is one odd thing though.

"Hoseok?"

"Hmm?"

"Check this out."

Once he's sure Hoseok is tapped into his thoughts, he still isn't quite sure how that works, he asks his inner omega about their pack. Sure enough, he gets the same image.

"There are seven figures including me, right?" he asks out loud.

"That's what it seems like," Hoseok agrees.

"But I only have two pack mates."

"Indeed," Hoseok frowns. "It would seem your inner omega believes your pack is incomplete. Perhaps it knows something you do not."

Yoongi frowns, trying to make out faces in the shadowy figures his inner omega portrays to him, but he can only see Jimin and Taehyung.

Seven.

To his surprise, his inner alpha acknowledges the thought with an affirmative huff.

You think so too? Who else would you have join us?

Only one face surfaces, and Yoongi shoots Jungkook a contemplative glance, grateful the dire wolf cannot read his thoughts as the two tails can.

It surprises him how comfortable he is traveling with two alphas, though he has a feeling that has something to do with his own inner alpha having emerged. Even so, he grows restless with the ease of the journey. He needs to move, needs to do something. To his relief, Jungkook seems to have a similar desire. On their fifth day of travel, they approach a small town surrounding a lake. Jungkook turns to the others.

"I think we should stop here for a couple of days. Give the horses a proper rest, and ourselves some time to unwind."

"Oh, that sounds lovely," Hoseok agrees. "I can't wait to see the villagers."
