"We're not afraid anymore. We are we are together bulletproof" - Bulletproof The Eternal - BTS

Yoongi stirs awake to the sound of a door closing. He strains his ears, but whomever it is, they are being exceedingly quiet, likely in an attempt not to wake Yoongi and the omegas. Restless, Yoongi presses his nose into the crook of his elbow, inhaling deeply. Namjoon's scent fills his nose, clinging to the sweater that practically dwarfs Yoongi. Heat stirs deep inside, his inner omega devouring the scent. Jimin stirs beside him, prompting Taehyung to reach over Yoongi's middle to stroke the smaller wolf's side. Their warmth surrounds him, only serving to intensify his own.

It won't be long now.

Day's earlier, Yoongi had felt a shift in his mood. A restlessness. He'd cleaned half the house before Jin had returned from his early morning walk with Jimin and Taehyung. All three of them had immediately swarmed him.

Pre heat.

Eight months had passed since they returned from the north, and Yoongi had experienced neither a heat nor a rut in that time. It was due, in part, to the suppressant he'd continued to take for as long as it was safe to do so. His pack mates had said nothing when he'd decided to continue taking it. And they'd understood when Jimin and Taehyung had decided to start taking it as well. But they'd all stopped months ago, so it had surprised all of them when even the omegas did not resume their natural heat cycles.

Namjoon had fretted over it, worried he'd given them the wrong dosages or miscalculated how long it was safe for them to be on it. So, when Yoongi had started to present signs of pre-heat, and Jimin and Taehyung followed a day later, the alpha had been nearly sick with relief. It happened often with the nomads; Seokjin had explained. Omegas in a breeding pack would sync up with whichever was considered their head omega, in an attempt to make sure any pups would be raised in a group.

It was all well and good, except now their pack has essentially three omegas in heat to deal with, none of which have been claimed.

That's about to change, though.

Thinking about what will happen over the next few days, Yoongi feels a tinge of nervousness. Not for the heat itself, he trusts each of his packmates implicitly, but for the claim. Or, claims, rather. The final acts that will solidify their pack into one unit. He worries how he'll react to being bitten again.

But it's my choice, this time.

He checks in on his inner wolves. Both are at trilling with anticipation, both ready. He needn't worry.

The door to the breeding room opens, and the soothing scent of chocolate fills the air.

Seokjin.

Yoongi sits up, arranging Jimin and Taehyung so they're draped comfortably over his legs.

"Are they back yet?" Yoongi asks.

"No," Jin replies. "But they will be here in time, don't worry. They just want to make sure you three are well taken care of. And make sure they have what they need, too. Three wolves in heat, even for three alphas and a beta, can be a lot to handle. Throw a pack mating ceremony on top of that? It's going to be exhausting for everyone involved."

He knows that, knows that making sure they have plenty of food and supplies is important, but he wants his alphas.

He pouts but doesn't complain, pushing down the desire to be pampered. They'd all worked hard the past eight months. On top of building their pack bonds, they'd all worked to make themselves a home. They'd renovated Namjoon's house, expanding it to accommodate their particular needs, and in that time, they'd grown into a tight-knit, if slightly chaotic, group. That's how he knows, despite his hormones telling him otherwise, that the alphas had not abandoned them. He just needs to be patient.
