"People change like you have. Living a life in the world, there's nothing that lasts forever" – People – Agust D

Yoongi freezes, his body no longer responding to his own will. He swings his head toward Jungkook, sizing up the black wolf. Memories of hours spent traveling with Jungkook, laughing at his antics and adoring his tender relationship with Hoseok flood his mind.

I don't want to.

His lips pull back in a snarl.

No, no, no. Stop. Please stop. I don't want to. Don't do it. Please.

Yoongi advances on Jungkook. The black wolf backs away, his ears are pinned, his dark eyes pleading with Yoongi to stop.

I can't. Please, just run.

He tries to reach out to Hoseok, to tell the green-eyed alpha to warn Jungkook. But, as before, Sire's hold over his mind blocks out Hoseok's ability.

'Fight it.'

He tries. Every step he takes toward Jungkook, he fights. He screams at his body to stop. A howl escapes his lips as he lunges at Jungkook. The young alpha dodges, pain flashing in his eyes as he lands on his injured leg. Yoongi hates himself for noticing, for thinking of ways he can use that to his advantage. He lunges again, and this time his teeth connect with Jungkook's hind paw. The metallic tang of blood coats his tongue as Jungkook shakes him off, circling around.

The black wolf backs against the wall, limping on two limbs now, unwilling or unable to fight back.

Stop taking it easy on me. Fight back, damn it. Kill me, before I kill you. Please, Jungkook... Don't let me do this.

A series of growls draws his attention momentarily from his prey. He looks toward the door to find Sire being backed into the room by Namjoon. Sire doesn't shift, despite the fact that the silver wolf's hackles are raised, his teeth bared and snapping as he prevents what had likely been Sire's attempted escape.

He's too weak to shift back. Lost too much blood. He was going to leave me here to kill my friend, my pack mate, and escape with his life.

'Kill him.'

His scent gland burns as he turns back to Jungkook, his command to kill still coursing through his blood.

'You can fight it. You can stop.'

But he doesn't know how. Ever since he came here, he's been under Sire's command. There is no escape from it.

Jungkook looks up at him with dark, sorrowful eyes. The black wolf seems so small, hunched down as Yoongi looms over him. One bite is all it would take. Yoongi whines, trying to stop himself even as his body courses with the desire to please his father.

At that moment, Jungkook does something Yoongi never could have expected. He shifts, throwing his arms around Yoongi's neck. He holds on tightly for what feels like hours, his scent enveloping Yoongi. And in that moment, Yoongi remembers. Remembers why Jungkook's scent is so familiar.

'He smells like a Kookie', isn't' that what Hoseok said?

If Yoongi could laugh, he would. Not a Kookie, a cookie.

Yoongi's mother had never cared for him the way other omegas seemed to care for their pups, but she had, occasionally, visited him as other omegas visited their pups. On days when the storm in her eyes was calmer, she would bring him cookies that smelled of cinnamon and the little black licorice candies some of the other pups enjoyed. Jungkook's scent is heavier, with earthy undertones, but it is unmistakably the same. To Yoongi, Jungkook smells like the few tender moments he'd cherished with his mother. To Yoongi, Jungkook smells like home.
