"With everything between us changed, I shout out alone, Blue I get colored by you, my eyes get welled up with blue tears, Blue" Blue Side – J-Hope
Hoseok moves his legs the tiniest bit, afraid of making too much noise but unable to resist the stretch. He'd been curled up for days, three to be precise, hidden in a compartment beneath the transport wagon Jungkook is being moved in, only daring to sneak out and relieve himself when the guards were asleep.
Once he'd relayed the information Yoongi had passed along to him, the wolves who had posted the bounty for Yoongi's father had known exactly where to find Jungkook. They were a pack of five, which in and of itself was proof of the changes that had been rumored about the north. They had helped him track down the prison transport where, upon finding Jungkook drugged into unconsciousness, they'd come up with a rescue plan.
To his relief, the northern wolves had agreed to follow his lead, if only because they believed Jungkook was integral in destroying the resistance once and for all by killing Yoongi's father, a wolf who called himself Wraith. Any progress the northern wolves had made in the political front had been stalled by Wraith's attempts to seize control of the territory.
But not for much longer.
For the past three days, he'd been infiltrating the minds of the guards escorting Yoongi to the eastern port city. He'd convinced them to alter their course away from the more traveled roads, planting seeds of fear in their minds. Due to his inability to lie, he had to work in suggestions rather than absolutes. But suggestions were enough when one believed they came from their own mind. And now, after three long days, he believed he'd caused enough damage for his plan to work.
'Are you nearly ready, Kai?' he asks the alpha in charge of the small group of specially trained fighters sent out to meet Jungkook.
'Ready when you are,' Kai confirms. 'Just say the word and I'll send Beomgyu in.'
It had surprised him to learn that the group included an omega, but Beomgyu had proven himself a more than capable fighter and had learned to weaponized his omega pheromones when fighting alphas.
Hoseok reaches out to the mind of the alpha driving the wagon. 'The sun is setting. These roads aren't safe at night. We should set up camp and organize watch as soon as possible.'
He plants the words like a thought in the alpha's mind, breathing a sigh of relief when the brute doesn't question it. It's only minutes later when the wagon begins to slow, the wheels creaking near Hoseok's head as it comes to a halt.
"Why we stoppin' so early, boss?" a guard asks.
"Not safe at night, especially with a demon amongst us. We should set up camp now, while there's plenty of daylight."
Hoseok urges the four other guards to accept the reasoning, and soon enough camp is made, a large fire crackling loud enough Hoseok doesn't even need a mental link with the alphas to know it's there. He waits until they've all settled around the fire to eat before calling in Kai.
"Um, hello," Beomgyu's voice, deceptively quite and innocent, calls out to the guards. "I see you're transporting a prisoner. Are you police?"
"Well, hello there, little omega. What are you doing out here alone?" the head guard croons, and it's all Hoseok can do to keep himself from charging out there as the images of what the guard plans to do with Beomgyu reach his mind.
He can take care of himself. He's probably pumping out pheromones to rile them up on purpose.
"I was supposed to be on my way to meet an alpha for my heat, prearranged breeding and all, but the two alphas who were escorting me took off after a rogue from Wraith's pack and now I'm all alone. You don't think that monster killed both of them, do you?"
