“Malapit na ulit ang battle of the bands. Kailangan na ulit nating mag practice for that upcoming event.” Kuya David announced.
We're in the club room right now. It is something the school has made just for us. It was a nice idea by the dean to have all the musical instruments complete here.
“At sabi rin ni Dean, kailangan daw nating mag perform para sa mga newly graduate ng junior high.” He added.
“What song are we going to play?” I asked.
“Dean said he would think about it first.” I just nodded.
“Okay. Alis na ako Kuya. Thanks again for saving my ass.” I joked.
Tanghali na ulit ako pumasok at nasita na ako ng guard. Of course, new record na naman ‘yon. Mabuti na lang at nakita ako ni Kuya David at nasaktuhan pang tropa niya yung guard. Nakalusot tuloy ako.
“Himala, hindi ka mag s-skip classes?” biro niya. I just smirked at him at lumabas na.
That question made me a bit sensitive, but I immediately shrugged it off. I was on time when I entered my class. My friends looked shocked when they saw me. I still haven't talked to them since Ate Milan and I talked.
“What’s with that reaction? Bawal na ba akong pumasok?” Masungit kong tanong. Kung maka-react naman, masyadong overreacting!
“Kapain mo nga ‘yan, Zoe. Nilalagnat yata!” Of course, it was Miles.
“Don’t joke around, Miles. You still owe me an explanation.” I said before sitting.
Mabuti na lang at dumating na rin ang teacher namin. I really tried to focus, but my last two brain cells couldn't make it. I can't keep up with their computations. And balance? What the heck is that? Do I have to balance myself so I can get the right answer?
This is why I keep skipping my classes. I'm really trying my best, but this course is making my head hurt. I think I need to see my doctor now because of this. This is giving me a headache.
“Do you want me to tutor you?” Caleb asked after our teacher left.
“I’ll think about it. For now, let me borrow your notes.”
“Oh, wrong timing. Xia borrowed it earlier.” He scratched his eyebrow.
“Who’s Xia?” I asked. Miles and Zoe were just listening to our conversation.
“Our new classmate.” When he said that, my gaze automatically scanned my surroundings but stopped when I saw a familiar figure.
I'm not day dreaming things right now. She's here. She's my classmate. The girl I frequently ran into.
“Is that our new classmate?” I asked and pointed out that girl. He just nodded.
I grinned at the back of my head. I examined every inch of her. Oh, she's smaller than I thought. Her piercing is now covered up, obviously, it's against school policy. I still found myself admiring her despite the fact that she seems aloof and cold.
I guess I've finally found my inspiration to attend all of my classes.
“Who snitch me?” I looked at them intently.
We just finished class, and now, here I am— questioning my friends. No way, Ate Milan and Mom quickly figured out that. Miles is her one and primary source for my grades. Apart from that, I'm positive that Caleb and Zoe are keeping their mouths shut.
