Getting ready to leave for school, I checked myself one last time in the mirror. Looking at myself up and down, I knew I was ready. I had little make-up on, I had a purple button down shirt with black slacks, smiling at myself I turned my head making sure no loose hairs were falling out of my ponytail.
"Lila! Let's go!" My brother calls from down stairs, "Alright! Alright! I'm on my way down! Jeez," I roll my eyes, picking up my backpack heading for the door, "Wait!" I say rushing back to grab my phone from the charger, "We're going to be late!" He calls again.
"You don't even care for school, don't even try to say that." I retort running down the stairs, past my brother and out the door, "Yeah, but you do." he mumbles shutting the front door and following me to the car.

"Lila!" I hear my name as I walk into school, turning to my right I see my friend Ricky running up to me, "Did you hear about the new student coming on Wednesday? His name is Braden McHellen, sounds like a snobby rich boy to me." she rambles, "Ricky! Don't say that, for all you know he could be a bad boy.
She scuffs, "Right, when leprechauns exists." she puts her arm around my shoulders, "You know, maybe he'll be the guy to finally get your heart." she squeezes me as I try and squirm away from her, "Not likely," I begin, "I'm too busy with school to be with a boy." I lift her arm off of me, "You're making my shirt wrinkle." I whine and walk away from her, "I'll see you in English okay?' I say heading to my first period.
Whispers were all around me, I was only able to hear a little that was around me. Gossip was like the news here, I rolled my eyes and ignored them, trying my best to not let my curiosity get to me, I heard some girl say, "I heard Braden's a bad boy and has a reputation on being an asshole," stopping in my tracks I look to the girl who said that.
"I heard you were giving it out to anyone who would give you attention." I blurt, putting my hand to my mouth she scuffs at me, "How would you know that? You don't even know me." she scuffs in disbelief, "I don't, I was just saying it to show you how rude it is to say rumors about someone you haven't met or know anything about. Don't be a gossip girl who starts the bullshit."
I glare at her, pausing, I look to the girls around her, "Why don't you all get to class before a teacher comes out and catches you girls standing around doing nothing. I would hate to have you girls get in trouble."
They scamper away fast, splitting up and going into different classes.
I can't believe those girls would say that. How rude of them to judge Braden before he gets here.

"Lila, the principle would like to see you in his office, he has something to talk to you about." The teacher gave me a slip as I sat down in class, "Oh, okay." I get up form my seat, "Take your belongings with you, he said it'll be a while."
I nod, picking up my bag and heading to the door, I heard whispers again, I roll my eyes as I open the door and let it slam.
Walking down the empty hall, I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, "I wonder what this could be about? Did I do something wrong?" I say to myself thinking over everything.
I push all the thoughts to the side and think about how I'm going to catch up in my first period class, I put my fingers to my temple as I walk, "This is going to be a long day."
Walking up to the door of the principles office, I could hear voices inside, lifting my hand to knock, the door opens and I jump back, "Oh my god," I shriek, "I'm so sorry dear!" a womans' voice says surprised, "It's okay, I just wasn't expecting the door to open." I smile letting her know it was okay, "Okay, I'm sorry again," She says and walks past me. I lean forward poking my head in the doorway, "Sir?" I ask, seeing a boy sit in a chair in front of Mr. Strongs' desk.
