Some people say that things happen for a reason.

Well, I think so, too.

In fact, I think that everything happens for a reason. Maybe even the Turn. But still, I'm not really sure what to believe anymore. I believed that there was a safe zone in Philadelphia, but there actually wasn't. But, I believed that Anthony was still alive, and he was. So, some things are true while other things are not, and that's basically how the world works now.

So let me explain what happened after I found Anthony. After both of us were freaking out for a few minutes, we set up camp in the restrooms. I pulled out a corpse before we did, of course. That night we eat some canned corn and beans for dinner. Before we go to sleep, Anthony tells me how he ended up on his own with a flashlight between us. After I was separated from him and the group, they tried to look for me for a little bit the next day, but there was a problem when one of them got bitten.

When the person died, he came back as a walker and killed two of the group members. The "leader" of the group shot him before anything else happened, but the gunshot attracted a swarm of walkers. A few more people died until it was just Anthony, a man named Ron, and a woman named Jolene. One night while camping out in the woods, Anthony heard them arguing about something when he was trying to sleep. When Anthony opened his eyes, he saw Ron stab the Jolene in the chest.

Scared, Anthony ran off into the woods with his backpack filled with essential supplies. The morning after, Anthony saw Ron as a walker on the other side of the road he was traveling on. Scavenging for supplies for the next month, Anthony was being chased by walkers when he ran into the restroom. That's about when we found each other.

Just so you know, it's been two days since Anthony and I found each other at the park. Now, we're on the side of the highway, well I'm on the side of the highway, while Anthony is looking for supplies in all of the abandoned cars. I'm looking at the map as I walk. I have to look for a route back to Woodford. Maps are really confusing, in case you didn't know. How did I even make it this far without getting lost?

"Hey, David! Come here!", I hear Anthony shout.

I quickly ready my hammer and rush over to Anthony, who has the sliding door of a van wide open.

"Look", he says, pointing to a walker inside the van. But this isn't just any ordinary walker. Both of its legs are missing, almost like they were chewed off of his body. It has it's arms out, a skeletal face snarling at the two of us, reaching for Anthony and I. Behind it, I see a single can of chili. Ah, that brings back memories.

"I wanna get that can, but the walker...", Anthony trails off.

I know what he wants me to do. He wants me to kill the walker for him. So I pull back my arm, and I strike the walker's head with the sharp end of the hammer. The walker's head collapses onto the van floor with a clang. Anthony then grabs the can of chili behind the corpse.

"All that for one can?", I ask him. Anthony nods with a smile on his face, placing the canned food inside his knapsack.

With the sun slowly setting, Anthony and I set up our sleeping bags inside a SUV and put our backpacks in the back seat. We gather twigs and dry leaves to get a fire going. I then use my lighter to get the fire started. The chili was pretty good after we cook it over the fire, but it would've been even better on a hot dog. Man, I would literally kill someone for a hot dog.

Wait, no, that's a little too dark for me.

After we eat, Anthony asks, "When we get to Woodford, do you think Jesse and Grace will still be there?"

I stare at him and say, "If they knew I would come back, they wouldn't leave."

"How can you be so sure?"

I don't know how to answer that. I got to know them for more than a week, but maybe there's something else that I don't know about them.

"They're good people. They would never leave Woodford unless they absolutely had to."

"But what if it turns out they're not there or...?", Anthony starts but he trails off.

With that being said, I kick dirt onto the fire so it will got out. Then, Anthony and I climb into the car for the night. I know for a fact that Jesse and Grace are waiting for me right now. I'm sure we'll be in Woodford soon.

Hopefully.
