Chapter 5: A Chance

The Next Day...

The 7:30 a.m alarm awakened Prince. He got up and put on some sweatpants and a white t-shirt. He stuck on his slippers and went to wake up Jacobie. She took her own bath and got dressed.

Prince: Wait downstairs for me.

Jacobie: Ok.

It just so happens, that Destiny was already up. She cooked breakfast. She had pancakes, bacon, eggs, grits, and of course some sausage patties.

Destiny: Good Morning Jacobie. Would you like some breakfast?

Jacobie: Sure.

Destiny fixed Jacobie a small plate. She covered her shirt with a rag so she won't mess up her clothes.

Jacobie: Thank You.

Destiny: You're welcome.

Prince took his shower and put on his clothes. (Outfit in picture)

As he came downstairs, he saw Destiny sit down a plate for him.

Prince: Breakfast smells Good.

Destiny: Thank You.

Jacobie: It tastes better!

Prince was surprised at Jacobie.

Prince: Could you keep my plate warn while I take Cobie to school?

Destiny: Of course.

She took his plate and sat it in the stove. Jacobie got up and washed her hands and left with Prince. Destiny cleaned up Jacobie's area and finally fixed her own plate. Her phone began to ring.

Destiny: Hello?

?: Hey Destiny, it's Nicole.

Destiny: Hey girl. How come you didn't call me back yesterday?

Nicole: I had to get another phone. This is my new number. I just wanted to let you know.

Destiny: Oh, alright girl.

Nicole: I'll text you later. Adios.

Destiny: Adios.

She hung up and continued eating.
You're probably wondering why ... didn't take Destiny in if they're such good friends. Well, she would've if she had known. Destiny pretended to live a decent life on her own. She never told Nicole about being homeless. Her parents? They kicked her out because they claim that she was out of control when in actuality, She wasn't. Destiny has always been a sweet girl. She never even let being homeless bring her down.

Destiny was finished with her food when Prince walked through the door. She put her plate in the dishwasher and sat Prince's food on the table.

Prince: Thank you. Where you going?

Destiny: I'm going job hunting remember ?

Prince: Oh yeah. I was hoping to have some company this morning.

Destiny: I'm sorry. The sooner I find a job, the sooner I can move out.

Prince: What if I enjoy your company?

Destiny froze.

Destiny: I...I mean, it may take a while. I'll be with you until then.

Prince: I can accept that for now.

He smiled at her and she tried not to blush.

Destiny: W...well I better be going.

Prince grabbed her arm.

Prince: Hurry back.

He winked at her and they both started laughing.

Prince: But seriously I have to be at work by 3 and its a 30 minute drive.

Destiny: Don't worry Princeton. I got you.

She turned and walked outside.
