My Prince Charming

Chapter 4: Dinner

An hour had passed and Prince called Destiny down to eat. Jacobie was already in her chair at the round table. Prince had already fixed their plates. Destiny sat across from Jacobie.

Jacobie: Papa can I eat in my room?

Prince: Why? You've never done that before.

Jacobie looked at Dedtiny, then back to Prince.

Prince: No. That's not a good reason. You're being disrespectful and you know how I feel about That princess.

She sighed.

Jacobie: Ok.

She held her head down while she ate.

Prince: How do like the food Destiny?

Destiny: Its delicious. Most guys don't cook This good.

Prince: Thank you. My mom taught me.

Destiny: She taught you well.

They smiled at each other.

Jacobie: I'm not hungry anymore.

She got up, put her plate in the microwave, and ran upstairs.

Prince: Excuse me.

He got up and ran upstairs. He heard mumbled cries coming from her room.

Prince: Baby girl unlock the door.

Jacobie: No!

Prince: Come on. Talk to me.

Jacobie: I hate you!

Prince sighed.

Prince: I love you too. You're still My favorite girl.

Jacobie didn't respond.
Prince went back downstairs to an empty table. Destiny was gone. He ran outside and saw her limping down the street.

Prince: Destiny wait!

She stopped and turned around to face him.

Prince: Where are you going?

Destiny: Home where I belong. I don't want to break the bond that you share with your daughter. Face it. She doesn't like me and she never will.

Prince: Don't worry about that. She'll come around. She's a little jealous because she's used to always having my attention. Her mother is never around and its my fault she's spoiled.

Destiny: Princeton I...

Prince: No. You're staying. I promise you she'll come around.

Destiny sighed.

Destiny: Well...okay.

Prince smiled and walked her back to the house. They went inside. Destiny went upstairs to the guest room. Prince went upstairs to check on Jacobie. The door was unlocked. He went in to find that she was sleeping. Prince whispered to her.

Prince: Goodnight mi princessa.

He turned off the lights but kept the night lights on and walked out. He was going to sat goodnight to Destiny but he heard the shower running. He went to his room and ran a warm shower. Afterwards, he dried off and put on his boxers. He was about to get in bed when he heard a soft knock on his room door.

Prince: Come in.

Destiny walked in. She saw him and she almost froze.

Destiny: I..I just wanted to say Goodnight and that I'll go looking for a job in the morning.

Prince knew she was staring at him but he didn't want to embarrass her.

Prince: You don't have to rush to find a job.

Destiny: I need to get out of your hair. A job will help me.

Prince: Alright then. Goodnight to you too.

Destiny started to walk out.

Prince: Wait.

Destiny stopped and turned.

Destiny: Yes?

Prince: I have to work tomorrow night. When Jacobie gets home from school do you think you can babysit for me?

Destiny: Are you sure you want me to watch her? I mean...

Prince: Yes I'm sure. You two can get to bond.

Destiny: Alright. You're the boss.

Destiny smiled and went back her to her room, wondering what tomorrow will bring.
