Chapter 6: On the prowl

Later that day...

It was 2:00 so Destiny started her walk home. By the time she got there, it was 2:20 and more cars were in the yard. Destiny opened the door and Prince was there with his family. Everyone turned towards her.

Destiny: S...Sorry to interrupt.

She started to closed the door.

Prince: No, it's ok Destiny.

He turned to his mom.

Prince: Ma everyone, this is Destiny. She lives with me.

Theresa: Baby you didn't tell me You had a girlfriend.

Prince: Oh no, it's not like that. We're just friends.

Theresa: Mhm. Ok.

Prince: I'm serious Ma.

She sarcastically threw her hands up in surrender.

Destiny: Well, it was nice meeting you all...

Bella: Stay. We'd like to know more about you.

Destiny: There's really nothing to know about me.

Noah: What's your favorite color? And favorite food? And...

Bella: Noah, don't ask so many questions.

Destiny: Its ok. My favorite color is green and I love all food but I favor Mexican food in general.

Mariah: You and Prince have things in common.

Destiny lightly blushed and pretended to check her phone.

Destiny: Excuse me.

As she began to walk upstairs, Prince stopped her.

Prince: My mom is going to take Cobie for the week so I won't need you to baby sit.

Destiny: Aww, Ok.

Destiny continued upstairs.

Theresa: Nice Girl. I like her.

Bella: Y'all would be cute.

Prince: She's a friend, nothing more, nothing less.

Mariah: Whatever you say, but I think you like her.

Prince: I don't.

He lied through his teeth. He knows he has a small crush on her.

Theresa: Well, I'll guess we'll get out your hair.

Prince: Don't leave just because Destiny 's here.

Theresa: We need to go anyway son.

Prince: Alright ma.

He hugged them all as they walked out.

Prince: Noah, Maddilyn, be good.

Noah: We will.

Jacobie: Bye papa.

He picked her up and gave her a forehead kiss.

Prince: Adios mi princessa.

He waved as they drove off. It was now 2:30. He went up to Destiny 's room and knocked on the door.

Prince: I'm leaving for work. Do you need anything?

Destiny: No, I'm good.

Prince: Oh one thing. I need your number just in case I need to reach you.

Destiny opened the door and they exchanged numbers.

Prince: Thank you.

Destiny: No problemo.

Prince: Ok. See you later.

Destiny: Ok.

Prince left and Destiny went downstairs and locked the doors. She watched tv and Nicole called her.

Destiny: Aye Girl!

Nicole: Hey hun. What you doing?

Destiny: Watching tv because I'm bored. What you doing?

Nicole: At my parents house. Where You living? We need to hang while I'm in town.

Destiny sent the address.

Nicole: Well baby girl get ready cause I'm about to come get you.

Destiny: Where we going?

Nicole: Somewhere Idk. But, I know tonight we are DEFINITELY going to the club.

Destiny: Aye! I still got my fake I.D.

Nicole: Same here baby girl.

Destiny: Let me go shower and I'll be ready when you get here.

Nicole: Ok. See you then, Bye.

Destiny hung up and ran upstairs. She went in her room and did her hygiene. She was in the shower for 20 minutes.
She got out, lotioned up, and got dressed. (Outfit on picture )

A few minutes later, the door bell rang.
Destiny walked downstairs and opened it.

Destiny: Best Friend!!!

Nicole: Best friend!!!

They hugged.

Nicole: Honey, your house is on fleek!

Destiny: I guess you can say that.

Nicole: Enough chit-chat, let's get going.

Destiny grabbed her phone and purse and left.

In the car...

She didn't want to bother calling Prince, so Destiny text him

Destiny: Hey Princeton,I'm going to be out with a friend today so I may or may not be home when you get off of work.

She sent the message hoping that he sees it.

Nicole: Ooh. Texting Mr. Right?

Destiny: No girl! It's not even like that.

Nicole: Yeah right.

Destiny: I'm serious.

Nicole: Ok girl.

They continued to talk until Nicole turned into the parking lot of their favorite old hang out.

Destiny: Girl! This is the spot!

Nicole: Exactly. That's why we're here.

They went inside the hangout called "The Hangout".

They went inside and sat in a booth.

Destiny: Remember how we used to order food and give it to random homeless people?

Nicole: I still do that. Let's eat ours first, then we'll find somebody.

Destiny: Yay! I know where some are.

They chatted for a while and ate. When they finished it was 4:30.

Nicole: Girl, I enjoyed this day.

Destiny: I know right. Just like old Times.

Nicole: Yeah. I guess I should take you home so we can both get some rest in for tonight.

Destiny: Alright.

As they pulled into the yard, Prince's jeep was already there.

Nicole: Oh. Who's this?

Destiny: Just a friend.

Nicole: Well, let me meet this friend.
