After a few hours, you where finally sitting in the car on your way home. "I'm so excited to see Mel!!" You smile only grew when you realize you where about to see your daughter. " im so excited as well my love. I can't wait to see Mel! " she giggled as she placed her hand on your thigh. She was excited to see Mel the most but she was even more excited to see you and spend the night and morning with you. " when we get home we will bake her favourite cake! She is going to love it! "

"Yes! How has school been for Mel?" You asked. "she has been making alot of friends at school actually. She has a friend called emilia that she loves to hang around with. " she replied whilst glancing over at you. Her tone was soft as she began to explain everything. "she is so good at maths and her reading has taken the biggest jump! She has been excelling! Honestly you should be proud of her... you are such a great dad." She smiled warmly as she turned to face you fully.

"I am so proud of her" you smiled as cumulus parked. " lets head home love. I can't wait for you to see Mel! " she said softly as she turned the engine off and opened the door to the car. She got out and then waited for you to get out as she stood next to the car door.

You quickly jumped out and ran inside, "MEL!!! I'M HOME!!" You screamed as threw your bag down. Mel came running out of the living room and jumped at you and hugged you tightly. " DADDY! " she yelled in pure excitement as she was so happy to see you. " i missed you so much daddy... where have you been??? " she asked in a worried and anxious tone as she looked at you.

"It's not important hunny" you said as you picked her up. " tell me daddy please!! " she begged and looked in your eyes as she held you tightly. " im your little girl, you always tell me things so please! " she looked at you and pouts as she didn't want you to think that you can't tell her things. " tell me daddy... i need to know ".

You let out a soft sigh, "I was at the hospital because I got hurt.. I am okay now!" You smiled softly. Mel gasped and looked at you in shock. " daddy?!? What happened? Are you okay now? Did you break some bones? " she asked in total shock and concern. Her voice was soft and it was obvious that she was worried about you. " you are feeling better dad? " she asked as she looked at you with a worried expression.

" Yes yes I am okay hunny" you looked over to cumulus "you told me you told her?" You asked. " of course i did my love " cumulus said in an understanding tone " i had to tell her why you were so busy and she has been worried sick about you. She has been waiting for you to come home and is so anxious. " she explained and began to stroke your hair " she is so worried about you love but she is so very happy to see you back home now and so am i."

You covered Mel's ears, "did you lie to her?" You asked. " no , of course not! I told her the truth about why you were away." She laughed " i explained to her why you were getting help and were away. She has been worried sick about you and has been having nightmares about it actually " she explained as she began to stroke you hair again in a soft and gentle motion.

You uncovered Mel ears, "..oh hunny.." you said as you pulled Mel closer. "Did you have a nightmare over the fact I was in the hospital..." you whispered. " yes daddy, we both did. I could not stop worrying about you! " she said in an anxious tone " i have been praying for your safety every night. " she explained as her cheeks became flush with embarrassment. " i do also have a small gift for you daddy, do you want to see what it is? " she asked in an excited voice as she looked up at you.

"Yes! I would love to see what you got!" You smiled wide as you kissed the top of Mel head. Mel's face lit up and she looked up to you eagerly. " okay daddy but you have to close your eyes though okay? " she said as she smiled sweetly. "Okay! I am!" You smiled as you closed your eyes and covered them with your hands. Mel ran for a moment before turning around to be infront of you again. " okay you can open your eyes now! " she exclaimed before presenting the gift to you. In her hand was a beautifully wrapped box , it was covered with glitter and colourful ribbons.

You opened your eyes and smiled wide, "awww!" You smiled as you opened the box. inside the box was a beautiful diamond necklace. " daddy, look! " she said nervously as she placed the necklace on your neck. The necklace had a beautiful diamond rose that was set in the middle of the necklace. She smiled and her tail started to wag as she watched you put it on. " im so glad that you liked it! Its for all the hard work and effort you have put in in these past few weeks to get better and stronger! You deserve something as beautiful as you are! " she said as she looked you in the eye and smiled.

"Did mama help you pick it out?" You smiled as you let Mel play with your horns. Mel nodded her head. " she said that you deserve the best and she loves you very very much and she is happy that you are home and safe right now! " mel explained. " she also gave me an extra gift for you though! " mel said with a smile as she rummaged through her pockets and pulled out a small box. She handed it to you.

"No no! I can't take all these gifts for you two!!" You laughed. Mel looked up at you and giggled as she placed her hands on her hips " daddy we don't accept no for an answer. You are going to take these gifts if it's the last thing i do " mel said as she held the second box out for you to take. " you deserve to be spoiled! " mel said in a teasing tone as she continued to hold the box out for you.

"Fineeee! I'll take it!" You smiled as you opened it. Cumulus chuckled and smiled as she watched you open the gift. The gift box was decorated with glitter and rainbows. Inside the gift was a beautiful pair of diamond and sapphire earrings and two matching bracelets. " we know that you love to match with us daddy " mel explained as she giggled. " these were a bit more expensive but mama really wanted to spoil you. She said that you are her favourite person in the whole world. "

You took out the earrings and put them on, "I love them!" You smiled as you put a bracelet in both cumulus and Mel hand. " yay! We all match! " mel exclaimed with excitement. " i am so glad that you like them daddy, i was kinda scared that you might hate the gift to be honest. " mel said as she adjusted her bracelet to sit comfortably on her wrist.

"I could never hate these amazing gifts you gave me!!" You smiled as you picked Mel up and started to spin around. " daddy!!! Hahaha what are you doing?? " mel asked whilst she laughed. She was definitely did not know what you where doing but she keep laughing " you know what would make the night perfect?" mel asked enthusiastically.

"What would that be!!" You smiled wide as you kissed the top of Mel head. " can we all bake a cake together?? I know it's a bit late... but we haven't had any family time together since we just got home. " mel whispered to you with big puppy dog eyes. She was begging you with her eyes to say yes.

"YES LETS GO BAKE!" You laughed as you carried Mel to the kitchen. Mel laughed excitedly and hugged you tightly as you both entered the kitchen. As she let go of you she grabbed your hand and ran to the cupboard to get all of your baking ingredients. " okay daddy, we are in the kitchen now do you know how to turn the oven on? " mel asked as she was excited to do this with you.

"Of course I do" you smiled wide as you turned the oven on. " yay! Its all pre heated and ready to go! Now lets get everything ready! " mel said as she reached up to the cupboard and grabbed the mixing bowl and all of the rest of the utensils you needed. She began to take everything and place it on the counter to get ready.

Mel looked up at you with big eager eyes as she asked. " you wanna mix the ingredients or do you want to pour them ? " mel asked in an excited tone. "I can mix if you wanna pour them!" You smiled. " of course! " mel chuckled softly as she took the mixing bowl and opened the lid of the flour. She stared at you and smiled as she began to pour the flour in the bowl. " whats your favourite cake? " mel asked in a soft voice as she scooped up some cocoa powder and added it in with the flour.

"I like strawberry! Or chocolate!!" You laughed as you started to mix the ingredients. " okay! " mel responded eagerly as she began to pour some milk into the bowl and then added some vanilla extract. " i love the smell of vanilla " mel explained as she paused for a second before adding some baking soda in with the flour, milk and vanilla extract. " yay! The milks been added so that means we have to put the strawberries in really soon right? I heard that if you try to mix everything together the strawberries just disappear " mel explained with a smile as she continued to pour ingredients into the bowl. Your heart shattered, for the rest of the night it was just you and mel cooking and laughing.
