Dan and Shola (on hold)

Chapter 2 - Becoming a Leska

Eventually they did arrive on Shola and Dan spent his time taking pictures and mental notes on what he was seeing. The architecture was very interesting and though foreign there were hints of similarities as well. They finally arrived at the telepath's guild and he was very impressed with the buildings and the broad fields not to mention the landscaping.

He really wanted to wander around and relax but they moved them into several large buildings that felt like a boarding house and the single people had two rooms and a bathroom but there was communal living areas as well. "Your luggage is in your rooms and here is a key card. Insert the card and then press your palm to the scanner. By doing that you can get into your room with your palm and let someone else use your card."

Dan took the card and waited for the male to speak again. "Once you get your room keyed to you please come back down. We are going to give you a tour of the facilities and over to medical for a quick physical and then over to the dining area for dinner."

Everyone split up and headed for the rooms they had been assigned to. Dan did as instructed and registered his palm print. When the door opened he walked in and after a quick glance around put his bag on the bed and pulled his kindle out of it and headed downstairs to the lounge and waited for everyone else to get back down. That seemed to take forever but eventually everyone came down and they were shown to medical and started getting evaluated.

This part he paid particular attention to since he knew that they were doing DNA testing and if you knew what to look for you could spot a lycan though he really didn't worry too much. There were some other indicators that blood work could identify but again they wouldn't have any idea what to look for and anything that was out of the norm of the limited sampling group they had would hopefully be listed as with in normal limits though outside the normal range.

He did find the devices they were using to be rather interesting since he had worked medical off and on over the years though as a lycan when there was fresh blood around it could bring the wolf to the surface unless you were very well controlled. The scent of pain and suffering could also do much the same so being a lycan in medical could be extremely challenging. While he was considering being tested and what the tests might show he was led to a scanner and had a full body scan as well as getting a blood and tissue sample taken.

While he was musing at the other end of the room he heard a disturbance and looked up and his eyes widened as he recognized the Leska couple from Kess. Before he could say or do anything the person working on him caught his attention and informed him he was done and sent him out a different door.

Dan walked through it and found a number of the other human's there as well as a Sholan. "Glad you could join us. We are taking you in groups of ten for a tour of the facilities. Please feel free to ask questions and any I can't answer I will note and get you an answer." They stood up and followed the man out and started the tour. By the time the tour was done Dan was both impressed and starting to get a headache which bothered him since he hadn't had a headache in years.

To be honest it wasn't really a headache so much as he could feel people staring at him and the other humans. Being what he was it was making the short hairs on the back of his neck tingle. He had felt it before but usually when people with bad intensions were staring at him. Most likely the people starting at him were simply curious but it was bothering him and was making him jumpy. He was brought out of his thoughts when the Sholan escort spoke to him.

"Mr. Legarith are you okay?" He could feel what felt like a headache since Dan was broadcasting his discomfort for anyone nearby to feel.

Dan turned and looked at him with curiosity since he knew that unless it got much worse his face wasn't showing it. "I'm fine." It was the truth for the most part other than the nagging headache.
