Chapter 4
Going to the Estates
Ever since the minor changing accident the other day going to the gym had been interesting to say the least. It had taken several days before anyone would do anything more than say good morning to him. He wasn't trying to sound bad but only sparing with Satasha simply wasn't doing it for him. She was learning a great deal and was trying her best to give him a run for the money but the fact was she was way out of his league.
Finally he had decided to simply do his kata's and blade exercises as best by himself till the others started feeling more comfortable with him though god only knew how long that would take. On top of that they wanted to do some additional tests on him which he was reluctant to do since he wasn't going to give away too many secrets of his race if at all possible. All in all he had definitely woken up on the wrong side of bed that morning.
Dan had just finished exercising at the gym and had debated on a shower but wasn't in the mood for the communal one in the gym at the moment and had decided to grab one in their rooms. As he was getting ready to leave the gym he found another female Sholan approaching him and Dan mentally rolled his eyes.
"Good afternoon Mr. Legarith. I am D'Lisha of the brotherhood. Do you have time to talk?" She was a bit taller than he was and was a marmalade color compared to Satasha who was brindle color.
He sighed. "If it is quick, I have not had a very good day." He had rolled out of the wrong side of the bed and wasn't in a very good mood. He gathered his things and led her out of the building. "So what do you want and call me Dan."
She followed him silently as they walked out of the building and had a feeling she knew why he was so grumpy but they could get into that later. "As I said my name is D'Lisha of the Brotherhood of Vartra and I have been assigned to you as your bodyguard." As his bodyguard as well as to keep an eye on him and see what she could learn about him not to mention keep him from getting hurt or him from hurting someone else.
Dan had to stop and stare at her as what she said started to penetrate through is brain and all he could do was to start laughing. He laughed so hard he had to lean against the wall till he was able to catch his breath. "That was hilarious, now pull the other leg." He gasped out.
She was more than startled when he had started laughing and had no idea why he was reacting the way he did. "Um, pull the other what?" She was definitely confused and had to wonder about him. "What is so amusing if I might ask?"
Dan took several slow deep breaths. "Because I am bodyguard myself and the idea of having a bodyguard assigned to protect me was just so funny." One more slow deep breath he spoke again. "So why am I being assigned a bodyguard and is Satasha assigned one as well?"
"I see, that is rather interesting and I can see how you might find it amusing. Maybe we can spar and trade some information and I am assigned to both of you, as far as why if you wouldn't mind waiting for your Leska to arrive at your rooms." She automatically adjusted one of the swords that were slung over her shoulder.
"I suppose that would be easier than explaining twice." He gave a shrug and turned and started towards their rooms. Once in the room he offered her something to drink and snack on if she wished. On the way out of the room he had felt Satasha approaching earlier but that had been before she realized that he had awoken grumpy for whatever reason. Now that he had calmed down some he could feel her coming back. "She is going to be here in a few minutes so if you want to take your swords off and relax while I go and take a quick shower."
