Chapter 3

Interim stuff

During the week Dan felt a surge of pain, anger, and then death.  He caught a brief flash of another mixed Leska pain and caught something about the human parents not allowing the link.  For a moment he saw red before throttling it back.  Dan had a soft spot for kids and from he could pick up was the parents hadn't believed in the link.  He could feel his wolf reacting to what he was feeling and that wasn't a good thing.  He was going to have to be very careful to keep him under control.

He followed the feelings towards the medical section.  Probably the only reason he made it as far as he did was because everyone was focused on an older Sholan who was explaining to the parents that they had killed their daughter in very angry tones.  Finally one of the soldiers noticed him and stopped him.  By the time he was stopped Dan was feeling extremely angry and knew that his eyes were as amber as possible before an actual change.

"This is a restricted are please leave."  He didn't make any threatening movements but it was obvious he would do what was needed.

Dan pulled his wallet out and showed his credentials.  "U.N. Special agent Legarith, I understand there has been a death of a Terran minor and need to investigate and see what happened."  He was pushing the bounds of his authority but all things considered it would give Mr. Hawke a headache which he deserved.

The warrior looked at it and turned and looked over his shoulder and called out.  "Ligien Aldatan I have a Terran special agent who wishes to talk to you."  While he was waiting for a reply he kept an eye on Dan and didn't let him past

The older Sholan stopped yelling at the humans and turned to face him.  "Who are you?"  He was definitely curious as to what the human was doing and why he was claiming to be something called a special agent.  It was just enough different that he took the moment to consider him before bluntly telling him to leave.

Dan, not being sure of the correct way to greet a clan lord gave him a deep wai.  "I am a United Nation's  Special Agent named Danilo Legarith.  I sensed some of what was going on and came over to see what was going on since it involved Terran's and to see if I can offer assistance."

The guard and Clan Lord looked at him and he felt a very brief mind touch before the Clan Lord waved him over.  "What is a special agent?"

Dan had decided to be very serious and the two humans started to move behind him and he chose to ignore them for the moment or he might have done something he would regret.  He did recognize them vaguely and only vaguely since they had been very reticent about leaving their staterooms aboard ship.  "As a special agent I have the authority to investigate issues as related to the United Nations and have some legal rights to apprehend and detain individuals as related to such investigations."  He held out his credentials.

"So in a way you are like a peace enforcer?"  The Clan Lord asked as he took the wallet and carefully inspected the badge and IDs that went with it before handing it back.

Dan frowned and felt Satasha contact him.  *Yes like an inspector,*  When she contacted him he could feel his wolf relax slightly though his eyes were still as amber as they were when he was in lycan form.  That was one thing he definitely hoped nobody asked about.
