The last two weeks had been rather busy but eventually they finally boarded a shuttle to the Chagda station where they found their transport and were escorted to a small two room suite. The only drawback was the shower facilities were communal but you could schedule time to have it to yourself. There was a basic food dispenser in the room which was nice for their link day. That had been one thing that Dan had made sure that they had one and since they were Leska's they were given a suite with one.
Even though space flight was still new to him he was otherwise distracted as he chewed on how to tell Nang what happened. Over the three weeks that they were enroute to the Ryashi Dan spent a fair amount of time trying to explain to Nang what had happened and why as best possible. As soon as he got close to her she would start feeling the new bonds and once he actually touched her she would definitely feel them and some of what they meant. At least he wouldn't have to prove to her that they existed since they were close enough to pack bonds that she could, or should, sense it. Now as far as the rest of the pack he wasn't sure.
The closer he got the more firm his plans were. He shot off a number of messages to the team as well as to Pam. The team was going to pick them up at the airport in Portland and drive them to his house. Pam was going to take the kids for the afternoon to give Dan time to talk to Nang. Satasha and D'Lisha were going to go with him to the house and once he talked to Nang they would take it from there. Eventually he would have Pam bring the children over after he had settled things as best possible with Nang.
Once there he had decided to get straight to the point and tell her about the link and to bring Satasha in and introduce her and D'Lisha and go from there. He had a spare room at the house they could use unless Nang was really put out and then they could stay with Pam except for link days. Dan had tentatively scheduled ten or so days to get pack business organized before contacting the Clan Lord as to how many he was going to be coming back with. At some point he was going to have to talk to the Marrok and organize his packs move as well as getting the others into new packs if they didn't want to leave.
The transport finally docked at a sister ship to the Khalossa and eventually they debarked and thankfully last night had been their link day so he had several days before he had to worry about it. He figured the cave would work for that. They spent one night on the ship in a cramped two bed cabin since it was late and he wasn't going to be landing in the middle of the night. That would only make Nang cranky.
The next morning they boarded a small shuttle and headed towards the surface. "Remember to keep your shields up; our cities are more populous than yours." He reminded her as they landed at the private terminal. They grabbed their carry-on luggage and proceeded out of the shuttle into the terminal and stopped at security.
Dan's bags had D'Lisha's weapons in them and when they walked up to the security gate he pulled out his passport and handed it over and got a raised eyebrow since it was a diplomatic passport. "Please turn the scanner off." He waited till that was done and then walked through. The last thing he wanted to do was get caught with alien weapons and D'Lisha had refused to leave them behind of which he didn't blame her at all.
They had gotten visas for Satasha and D'Lisha and they were quickly processed through and they walked down the passage to the general terminal and found Joe and Mick there. He had let them know that he had two Sholan's with him but not why.
"Joe, Mick, this is Satasha, my Leska, and D'Lisha our bodyguard." The last bit was laced with heavy irony. "We need to wait for our luggage which will be here in a few minutes." Dan gave the two of them a rather sardonic look when they had to pause to take in what he had said.
Both froze for a moment when he introduced her as his Leska, but it was a very short pause and then Joe spoke. "Please to meet both of you. The car is outside waiting with Eric."
