AUTHOR'S POV...
Arnav sits at the dining table, waiting patiently for his breakfast.
"Aradhya, where is my breakfast? It was your duty" he shouted folding his sleeves.
She emerged from the kitchen wearing an apron and a bowl in her hand mixing something.
"Good morning, Sir. Just 2 more mins" she replied to him with a forced smile.
He rolled his eyes busying himself in his phone.
But, internally he felt happy that finally, he will get some good breakfast after eating toast all these years.
Exactly after 5 mins, she came holding a bowl in her hand and placed it in front of him.
"Enjoy, Sir!" she smiled moving away.
He opens the lid and....
Can you guess what was inside?
Maggie!!!!
"Wtf! Who eats Maggie for breakfast" he asked looking at her apron which had curd and turmeric patches on it, denoting as if she just cooked a meal for the entire village.
"After getting out of the research project, I am so depressed that I can't focus on anything. You have to manage with this for now" she replied in a very innocent sad voice.
"Then what were you mixing in that bowl?" he asked completely ignoring her previous rant.
"Oh, that? It was curd and turmeric. I will apply it on my face, it is really good for the skin. Do you want to try?" she excitedly asked.
He looked at her in complete disbelief.
"No thank you" He said digging in his maggie. Something is better than nothing.
"Ok" she shrugged her shoulders and went inside to apply her face mask.
...
Aradhya lies on a bench in the university garden, engrossed in a romance novel. The gentle breeze rustles the pages as she loses herself in the world of fictional love stories.
Unbeknownst to her, Arnav approaches, his expression already displaying irritation.
"Aradhya! What on earth do you think you're doing?!" He raised his voice angrily.
Startled, Aradhya looks up from her book, her eyes wide with surprise. She quickly closes the novel and sits up, facing Arnav.
"Sir, I was just taking a short break and enjoying a moment of leisure" she said innocently.
Arnav's frustration intensifies, his voice filled with disapproval.
"Leisure? You were removed from my research project just two days ago, and now here you are, shamelessly indulging in romantic novels! Do you have no sense of shame left?" he grunted.
Aradhya tries to hide a smirk, purposely pushing his buttons.
"Well, sir, I am really depressed after getting out of the research project. So, I am just diverting my mind" honey dripped from her voice.
Arnav's anger flares, his voice becoming sharper.
"In the class. RIGHT NOW!" he yells in irritation.
Aradhya, enjoying his reaction, decides to play innocent.
She begins gathering her belongings, ready to leave.
...
Arnav stands at the front of the classroom, teaching a physics lesson. The students sit attentively, taking notes and occasionally raising their hands to answer his questions. Aradhya, however, remains silent throughout the class, diligently jotting down notes in her notebook.
"Now, can someone tell me the formula to calculate the gravitational force between two objects?" Arnav asked pointing towards the board.
Every student raises their hands, eager to answer. Arnav scans the room, noticing that Aradhya hasn't raised her hand.
He continues teaching shaking his head.
After the class is dismissed, he found only Aradhya sitting alone and playing with her pen, lost in deep thoughts.
He approaches her and checks her notebook.
"You have written everything correctly then why were you not answering when I was asking the questions?" He asked a bit surprised.
"Sir, I am really depressed after getting out of the research. I can't focus on anything" she says sadly biting her lower lips.
He looks at her carefully, this time something like concern lacing his eyes.
"Don't think about it. Let's go home" he says, afraid that she might take some extreme step.
"Ok, Sir" she innocently agrees taking her belongings and starts following him.
He starts walking ahead and she walks behind him.
"Mujhe nikala tha na? Khudse mujhe wapis research mein nhi liya to mera naam bhi Aradhya nhi" She flips her hair and smirks while popping a chewing gum in her mouth.
(You kicked me out, right? If you didn't bring me back into the research yourself, my name will not be Aradhya)
"Waise Divya bhi accha naam hai" her subconscious mocked...
(By the way, Divya is also not a bad name)
...
Aradhya lies comfortably on the couch, engrossed in watching TV and munching on a bag of chips. The room is filled with the sound of the television, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
Arnav emerges from his room and notices her leisurely activities. His anger rises as he feels she is intentionally trying to irritate him.
"Aradhya! What on earth do you think you're doing?" he asked raising his voice.
Startled, Aradhya turns her attention away from the TV, chips still in her hand.
"Sir, I was just taking a break. Is there something wrong?" she says innocently.
Arnav's frustration intensifies, his voice filled with disapproval.
"Taking a break? You were removed from my research project just two days ago, and now here you are, shamelessly wasting time watching TV and eating chips! Do you have no sense of responsibility?" he asked shaking his head.
Aradhya tries to hide her amusement, purposely pushing his buttons.
"Well, sir, since I am no longer involved in your research, I thought I'd take some time for myself and indulge in a little relaxation" she pouted.
Arnav's anger flares, his voice becoming sharper.
"This is not the time for relaxation, Aradhya! " He said, irritated.
Aradhya, enjoying his reaction, decides to play innocent.
"Sir, after getting kicked out of the research project, I am really depressed. My heart is really in so much pain" she said sadly, shaking her head.
"Ok fine! I am taking you back to the project!" he yelled and went back to his room.
"Thank you so much, Sir" she whispered behind his back with a smirk.
"Aaye bada mujhe nikalne wale!"
(Huh! wanted to kick me out!)
