It was a miracle, that day. At least, everyone called it a miracle. He wasn't so sure if it was a miracle himself, when the times of the Past, Present, and Future crashed into each other like meteorites on a collision course. Nobody knew how it happened, or why, but it did. Somehow, time folded in on itself like a paper airplane and mended together.
At first, it was really scary. It was the first time he had ever seen his father so scared. He, alongside his mother and his twin sisters, were called into the basement so that they could wait out whatever catastrophe was happening outside. It felt like it lasted for years, when in reality it was only for a few weeks.
His city used to be just quiet, seemingly out-of-nowhere Podunk, but it was one of the first towns to be hit by this miracle. It took a while to get used to, but eventually, the different times blended and became one and the same, as if they were never apart to begin with.
Strange machines that were once foul became normal, portable boxes with colours and pictures became mainstream, and everything that was once part of the future now became part of the present, or at least that's what he told himself to it made even a lick of sense.
Ninten's world became bigger, cities expanded, and entire new villages seemingly popped out of the ground. They merged with the cities and towns that he knew well before:
Podunk became May, Snowman and Reindeer became December, Halloween became October, Thanksgiving became November, Easter became April, and Valentine became February.
It was a whole new adventure for him, except, this time, he wasn't going to have to fight any crazy alien monster.
Instead, trains between each city were built, and his life continued normally, meeting new friends, different people, and unfamiliar faces all the like.
The same could be said for the other side of the story, Claus. He woke up in an immense pain. Lucas had just pulled the final needle. With his final breath, he watched his twin brother pull it from the earth and waken the sleeping dragon.
After that? He doesn't remember. His body was still modified, that didn't change, but at least he remembered how to change his blaster to another hand. That helped. His helmet was gone, probably in the aftermath of whatever had happened while the dragon woke up.
He was surrounded by his family, his twin, Lucas, his father, Flint, and even his late mother, Hinawa, who seemed to be in perfect health. He started to tear up. He had missed her.
After a quick, brief reunion, the family took a quick glance at their new surroundings. It was different, as if they were shot to a different world, yet similar. As if they had seen something like this before.
There was a third party, too, who had suddenly been shot into this new world. His life was peaceful, his adventure had ended on a happy note, but there was a splitting headache before he saw many things fly past him. Memories, songs, worlds, he glanced around and nearly fell over before blinking himself awake.
It must have been a dream, he initially thought. Though, after all, he was wrong. His world had changed too, and towns he had adventured through before had merged with cities of the past. It was exciting, but difficult to get a grasp of:
Onett became May, Winters became December, Threed became October, Summers became November (to much of his time's disdain), Twoson became April, and Fourside became February.
It was different, but it was fun. This new experience, he promised to himself, was going to bring lots of new adventures and friends.
