At School, In math class, where Scott has chosen to stand on the blackboard to work out a math problem. I'm too chosen to do the same thing and stand next to him when I suddenly speak to him in a quiet, snide voice.

I rapidly write my math equation "Why is there a rumor going around that you're not playing tomorrow?"

Scott clearly tired of debating this with everyone sighs in frustration and is barely writing anything "Cause I'm sort of not."

I continue to sneer at him in irritation as I quickly write more of my math work onto the board with my left hand "I think you sort of are__ especially when you brutally injure my boyfriend by ramming into him"

Scott visibly appalled makes a face as he turns to look at me "He brutally injured himself ramming into me"

I ignore him completely as I continue to make my point "Jackson's gonna play tomorrow__ But, he's not gonna be at his peak__ and, I prefer my boyfriend__ at peak performance"

Scott raises an eyebrow, not understanding what this has to do with anything "Okay..."

I say "I date the captain of the winning lacrosse team. And, if they start off the season losing, I date the captain of the losing team. I don't date losers."

Scott frustrating "Losing one game isn't gonna kill anyone" I don't like this answer return to my work on the blackboard, and Scott's voice becomes softer and quieter "In fact, it might even save someone..."

I realize that debating him isn't a successful tactic and decides to switch to threats instead, my tone becoming even ruder than it has been this whole conversation "Fine. Don't play. We'll probably win anyway. Then, we'll go out after, like we were planning, and I'll introduce Allison to all the hot players on the team... and Scott McCall can stay home, surfing the 'net for porn."

I finish my math problem with a flourish and give him a significant look before flipping my hair over my shoulder, wiping the chalk dust off of my hands, and sashaying back to my seat

Meanwhile, the math teacher simply looks at Scott with an unimpressed expression as he skims over Scott's work "Mr. McCall, you're not even close to solving your problem..."

Scott sighs though he can appreciate the irony of the double meaning in these words as he mutters under his breath "Tell me about it."
