-•Lilian's pov•-

There are moments in our life that are too good, too beautiful to be true. It feels like you are living a dream and it will end soon. This was exactly what I was feeling. Like I was in some kind of dream. I never knew Ian would come after me begging to be present in his life. Those flowers, notes, cookies which still make me laugh and now a handwritten letter and dinner. It was all unbelievable.

As he drove through the city to the restaurant I thought about my life. How I had always loved him helplessly and he never acknowledged my presence. But when I left he realized how badly he needed me. Now I truly understand what it is that you value people only when they go out of your life. I had cherished him when he wasn't mine, when I was his wife and even when I decided to leave him but he realized my importance when I left.

"We are here" he announced parking in front of a fancy restaurant before he began to unbuckle his seatbelt. I too unbuckled my belt but before I could get down he was by my side and pulling open the door.

"Thank you" I smiled slipping my hand in his and he pulled me out. Hand in hand we both walked into the restaurant. The lounge was busy bustling with crown and servers, music floating softly in air and I wondered if we were going to sit between all these people and eat. But a server took us upstairs and totally empty hall. The lounge was lit with candles and in the middle sat a table with two chairs.

"It's beautiful" I whispered looking around.
"I am glad you liked it"
"How can I not" live music played and created the best of air around us.

"Lets settle down" Ian pulled a chair for me and once I was settled he went to sit on his own chair.

"What can I get for you" the young boy who escorted us here asked.

"For now get us the best wine you serve and we'll decide in the meantime" he nodded and left.

"Take off your coat"

"Yeah" I laughed and took off my coat. It really was hot here. After a while the boy came with a bucket of ice in the middle of which sat a bottle of wine.

"Thank you" and then he was gone. Live music played, candles burned around us and we drank wine while struggling to talk. We came but we were miserable. I personally had nothing to say and Ian was not much of a talker. So we basically asked How are you and How was Christmas?

"This shouldn't be so awkward" Ian broke the silence which prevailed after we had ordered our food.

"Yeah. Do you have anything to say"

"Lilian_" he sighed "_please come back with me"

"I can't"

"Why?"

"Why do you want me back" our food came but I was no more in mood to take a bite of sizzling steak in front of me no matter how wonderful it smelled.

"Because_"

"Because?"

"I can't stay without you Lilian. My days are void, my life is empty. It is like I am no more the same person. Every time, every day, I think about you. My house where you never spent so much time is empty. Even office is no more good without you. I still expect running into you in elevators" his words took me off guard. I had never expected to year such words from him.

"Ian-" I whispered.

"I know. I know I hadn't been an ideal husband and this marriage or shall I say situation was more than fucked up but please try to understand me"

"Ian this relationship had never started. You had never been my husband. We never had an ounce of compassion for each other so it is wrong if we think we need each other"
