The car ride was long, so she told me to get some rest but I couldn't sleep. I eventually take a small doze and wake up to the sun in my eyes. I straighten up in my seat and look out the window. It wasn't like the usual road back where I lived, where there were buildings every block. Here there are trees everywhere and there were a couple of farms. I look at my sister, who is still asleep.

"What time is it?" I ask the social worker.

"8:56" She says pointing at the cars built-in digital clock. "We are almost there, just a couple of minutes more."

I mumble ok trying not to wake up Tara.

A few minutes later we are there. It's like a mansion. The social worker looks at me and says "This is your new home for now," she says with a big smile on her face. I nod and suddenly I feel confidence rushing to my body. "What happened to my parents?" I say loudly.

She looks down and says "I'll tell you and your sister at lunch. I nod and grab my sister and wake her up. When the social worker doesn't look I hold a finger to my lip so that Tara doesn't start talking.

"Home sweet home," the social worker says. As she opens the door she says, "follow me and I'll show you guys your rooms." She led us to a huge bedroom. I was stunned, the house was beyond looking expensive, it was incredible. "This is your room Kayne. Tara, follow me and I will take you to your room."

Immediately I shake my, "No, we stay together."

"Okay then I'll get an extra bed in here right away," she says slightly confused. "I'll leave you to know to freshen up, come to lunch at 12:00 precisely," and with that she closes the door and leaves us together alone.

"Where are Mommy and Daddy?" Tara blurts out.

"They aren't here right now," I reply and before she can ask another question I add, "We will find out more at lunch."
