(y/n)'s POV:

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping through the window and Cupid's heart-shaped alarm clock. I flipped over in my bed, throwing my (f/c) comforter over my head. I could hear Cupid get out of her bed and move around somewhere in the room. Suddenly, my bedsheets were thrown off of me and I was surrounded by the cold of the room. I shot up and glared at Cupid, who was standing beside my bed with her arms crossed.

"Do you really want to be late for your first day of class?" Cupid asked. My sleep-fogged brain took a moment to process her words before I jumped out of bed and ran to my closet.

"Oh my fairy godmother I completely forgot! What time is it?!" I panicked while throwing clothes behind me, settling on my usual outfit. Cupid chuckled, picking up some of the clothes and placing them on my bed.

"It's only 6:30, breakfast doesn't start 'til 7:00, and first period starts at 8:00," Cupid replied as she went back to her side of the room. This calmed me down and I stopped panicking, I was now able to get ready at a normal pace. As I pulled on my dress, someone knocked on the door, startling me. I go to answer as the person knocks again.

"Ok, ok, I'm coming!" I mutter at whoever doesn't have the patience to wait just a minute. Opening the door, I see Apple and Raven, both of them somehow already up and ready. Apple bounces on her feet while Raven yawns, obviously having been woken up early by Apple.

"Hey (y/n)~" Apple sings, letting herself in past me. Raven just waves at me and follows, an apology evident in her eyes. "We're here to help you get ready for your big first day!"

"Thanks, Apple, but I kinda just got up," I laugh awkwardly and scratch the back of my neck.

"Well, that's perfect then! More for us to help you with," Apple pushes me over to my vanity and picks up my hairbrush. She runs the tool through my (h/l), (h/c) hair, getting rid of all the knots and tangles. Raven went over to Cupid, sitting on her bed and striking up a conversation. "So~," Apple drags out, "Have you talked to Sparrow yet?" I turn, forcing her to stop brushing my hair.

"Is this why you're actually here?" I question, narrowing my eyes at her. Apple looks confused. I probably shouldn't have gotten so defensive right away, I thought. I sigh, "Nevermind. And no, I haven't," I tell her. "I mean, I've only been here a day."

"Well, you totally should," Apple says, resuming brushing my hair. "You two are going to spend forever after together, after all," she puts the hairbrush down and dances to the other side of my vanity, grabbing an eyeshadow palette. I close my eyes, feeling the bristles of the brush on my eyelids. I fall silent after this and let Apple finish my makeup to the sound of Cupid and Raven's conversation. Cupid did tell me not to bring up my disliking of my destiny to Apple, after all.

My first day at Ever After had been generally uneventful. Me and Apple had our first three classes, Princessology, Damsel-in-Distressing, and Kingdom Management, together, so I had to listen to her high-pitched voice for five hours, including breakfast and lunch. After lunch, I had Grimmnastics with Raven and Briar, then Creative Storytelling with Maddie. I'm currently on my way to Muse-ic class, but unfortunately, I can't remember how to get there. Apple had shown me on our tour, but she brought me pretty much everywhere in the school so getting around was difficult to remember. I saw Ashlynn down the hallway and quickly walked over.

"Ash, I have never been happier to see someone in my life," I breath a sigh of relief. Ashlynn placed her hand on my shoulder.

"What's going on?" She asked me, concern laced in her voice.

"I can't find the Muse-ic room," I said with embarrassment.

"There's no need to worry," Ashlynn reassured me. "The Muse-ic room is upstairs and to the right." She pointed me in the direction of the nearest stairwell.

"Thank you so much, Ash," I gave her a quick hug, and waved, quickly walking to the stairs. I didn't know how much time there was until the bell rang, but I did know it wasn't a lot. I made it to class right before the bell rang. Professor Pied Piper waved me over to his desk.

"Welcome to Ever After High, (y/n). How have you liked our fine school so far?" he asked me.

"Thank you, it's been great so far," I replied my same generic answer to the same generic question all my teachers have asked me.

"Well, that's great to hear! We have one empty seat, over there next to Sparrow Hood. I hope you enjoy my class." Professor Pied Piper smiled and motioned toward my seat. My heart stopped when I heard Sparrow's name, however.

I definitely don't want to have to talk to Sparrow yet, let alone in class! I thought. Taking a deep breath, I thanked the professor and walked to my spot. I could hear my heels clicking on the floor as I crossed the room. At least most of the students had seen or met me, so I didn't have to deal with their stares. I did have to deal with the stare of Sparrow, though. Headmaster Grimm probably told him about me, since he seems to be telling everyone else, I thought.

Shoving my bag under my seat, I sat down and crossed my legs. I was attempting to pay attention to Professor Pied Piper when someone else. The person sitting next to me tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a flirtatious smile.

"Hey, I'm Sparrow."
